Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited Football Club, commonly known as SNGPL Sports, served as the football section of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. Based in Lahore, [1] The club used to compete in the Pakistan Premier League.

History

Sui Northern Gas debuted in the 2014 PFF league where they were drawn in group E. They ended up in second place. In the 2015 NBP National Challenge Cup, they were drawn with KRL, K-Electric and SSGC, finishing last in their group.

The club was closed after the shutdown of departmental sports in Pakistan in September 2021. [2]

The 2012–13 President's Trophy was one of two first-class cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2012–13 season, the other being the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. It was the inaugural edition of the President's Trophy. Ten departmental teams each played nine 4-day matches in a round-robin league phase between 3 October and 7 December 2012, with the top two teams contesting the final on 11–14 January 2013.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited cricket team is a first-class cricket team that plays in the Patron's Trophy. In May 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan revamped the domestic cricket structure in Pakistan, excluding departmental teams in favour of regional sides, therefore ending the participation of the team. The team was refounded in the 2023/24 season after a revamp of the domestic structure.

It was contested over four days between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited cricket team the winner of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy from Pakistan and Delhi cricket team the winner of Ranji Trophy from India.

The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 1 September to 8 December 2018. Following the conclusion of each match, the teams played each other in a List A fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup tournament. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited were the defending champions.

The 2018–19 Pakistan Premier League was the 61st season of Pakistan domestic football and the 12th season of the Pakistan Premier League. It was the first edition of the league to be played since the 2014–15 season.

Mian Altaf M. Saleem is a Pakistani businessman who is the founder of Shakarganj Limited and its philanthropic arm Shakarganj Foundation. Previously, he has served as the Chairman of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and as a Federal Minister for Privatisation from 1999 to 2002.

The 2023–24 President's Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition played in Pakistan. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played from 16 December 2023 to 31 January 2024, however, the final was later rescheduled to begin on 6 February 2024. The final was rescheduled a second time to 9 February and moved from Karachi to Rawalpindi. It was played by seven departmental teams, across three venues in Karachi and one venue in Rawalpindi. In December 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. It marked the return of departmental cricket in Pakistan since the 2018–19 season. Although eight teams were originally scheduled to participate, Sui Southern Gas Company pulled out of the tournament.

The 2024–25 President's Cup Grade-I (1-Day) was the second edition of the President's Cup, a List A cricket competition in Pakistan. The tournament began on 3 October 2024 and the final held on 16 October 2024.
