Sabina Tashkenbaeva (born 27 November 2000 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) [2] is a former Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2019 Asian Championships all-around gold medalist.
Tashkenbaeva began training in gymnastics in 2006. She became a member of Uzbekistan's national team in 2013 and made her international senior debut in 2016. [3]
Tashkenbaeva competed at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, earning silver in the team event alongside compatriots Anastasiya Serdyukova and Nurinisso Usmanova, as well as bronze in both the clubs and ribbon individual competition. [4] She won the silver medal in both the individual all-around and team events at the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. [2]
At the 2019 Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships held in Pattaya, Thailand she won the gold medal in the individual all-around and team all-around events. [5]
Through the 2021 FIG World Cup Series, Tashkenbaeva qualified for an Olympic berth. She was the second-highest ranked eligible gymnast, after Slovenia's Ekaterina Vedeneeva. [6]
Tashkenbaeva speaks English, Russian and Uzbek. She attends the Uzbek State University of Physical Education. [3]
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and rope. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FiG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. It became an Olympic sport in 1984, with an individual all-around event. The group all-around competition was added to the Olympics in 1996. At the international level, rhythmic gymnastics is a women-only sport. The most prestigious competitions, besides the Olympic Games, are the World Championships, World Games, European Championships, European Games, the World Cup Series and the Grand Prix Series. Gymnasts are judged on their artistry, execution of skills, and difficulty of skills, for which they gain points. They perform leaps, balances, and rotations along with handling the apparatus.
Son Yeon Jae KTM is a retired South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a former member of the South Korean national gymnastics team, based in Taereung, Seoul. Son is the 2014 Asian Games All-around Champion, the 2010 Asian Games All-around bronze medalist, three-time Asian Championships All-around Champion. She is the first and only South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast to win a medal at the World Championships, FIG World Cup series, Universiade and the Asian Games.
Deng Senyue is a retired Chinese individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2014 Asian Games silver medalist. She finished 4th in All-around at the 2013 World Championships.
Arina Alekseyevna Averina is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a 2020 Summer Olympics finalist, a two-time world all-around silver medalist, a two-time European all-around champion and the 2016 Grand Prix Final all-around bronze medalist. She is a three-time (2019-2021) Russian national all-around champion and a three-time Russian national all-around medalist. Her identical twin sister Dina Averina is also a competitive rhythmic gymnast.
Anastasiya Evgenievna Serdyukova is an Uzbekistani former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the All-around bronze medalist at the 2014 Asian Games and the 2017 Asian Championships All-around gold medalist.
Sabina Ashirbayeva is a retired individual Kazakh rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2016 Asian Championships All-around bronze medalist.
Zhao Yating is a Chinese individual rhythmic gymnast.
Ekaterina Olegovna Vedeneeva is a Slovenian individual rhythmic gymnast.
Sofia Raffaeli is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 World all-around, hoop, ball, ribbon and team champion, the 2023 European ball and clubs champion and silver all-around medalist, and the 2022 European hoop and clubs champion. She is also the 2019 Junior World silver medalist with rope and clubs. She is the first Italian individual rhythmic gymnast to win a gold medal at the World Championships, European Championships and World Games, and she has won seven all-around gold medals in the FIG World Cup circuit.
Alina Muratovna Adilkhanova is a Kazakhstani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2018 Asian Games all-around and team champion. She is also the 2018 and 2021 Asian all-around champion and is an eleven-time medalist at the Asian Championships. She represented Kazakhstan at the 2020 Summer Olympics and placed twenty-first in the qualification round for the all-around.
Darya Sorokina is an Azerbaijani individual and group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 World 3 Ribbons + 2 Balls bronze medalist. She is the 2020 European group all-around silver medalist and the 2022 European group all-around bronze medalist. She represented Azerbaijan at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Yelyzaveta Luzan is a Ukrainian-born Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. As a member of the Azerbaijan group, she is the 2022 World 3 Ribbons + 2 Balls bronze medalist. She is the 2020 European group all-around silver medalist and 2022 European group all-around bronze medalist. She represented Azerbaijan at the 2020 Summer Olympics. As an individual, she represented Azerbaijan at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and won a gold medal in the mixed team event.
Ekaterina Andreevna Fetisova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 Asian Championships ball champion and all-around bronze medalist. She also won team gold and hoop bronze at the 2019 Asian Championships. She represented Uzbekistan at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the 2018 Asian junior all-around champion.
Takhmina Ikromova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is a two-time All-around champion at the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, in 2022 and 2023.
