Sadat Hossain (born 1984) is a Bangladeshi author, poet, screenwriter, film-maker and novelist. [1] [2] [3] He described himself as a storyteller. [4] [5] [6] [7]

Early life and education

Sadat Hossain was born In Kalkini, Madaripur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He studied anthropology at Jahangirnagar University. [8]

Career

He was a photojournalist in a newspaper. Then the editor told him that he should write the story of those photos. Eventually, with these he published his first book in 2013 named Golpochobi. [9] Then, he started to write the short stories. In 2014 Janalar Opashe published. In 2015 Aarshinagor is the first book when people recognize him in 2015. [10] Besides writing he has interest in filmmaking as well. He has a production house named ‘ASH’ Production house, released a number of visual contents like short films, dramas, music videos, documentaries etc. [2] [11] His novels imbued with vague idealism are often long, and melodramatic. [12] A feature-length musical film named 'Gohiner Gaan' written and directed by him. [13] [14] [15]

According to the largest online bookstore in Bangladesh, Rokomari.com, he is the bestselling fiction writer at Ekushey Book Fair for the last few years. [16] [17] [18]

He is also one of the best selling writer in Bangladesh Book Fair in Kolkata, India. [19] [20] [21]

Abdur Razzak was a Bangladeshi actor and film director. He was dubbed Nayak Raj Razzak, a term introduced by Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury, editor of the magazine Chitrali. Razzak won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor five times for his roles in the films Ki Je Kori (1976), Ashikkhito (1978), Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982), Chandranath (1984) and Jogajog (1988). He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh. He acted in more than 300 Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali and Urdu films and also directed 16 films. He is considered one of the greatest actors in Bangladeshi film industry.

Zulfiqer Russell is a Bangladeshi lyricist and journalist. He is currently the editor of the online news site, The Bangla Tribune. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the film Putro (2018). He was the winner of the Channel i Music Awards in 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2022 and also received the Mirchi Music Awards (Bangla) award for the Song of the Year in the Modern Song category for, "Shabuj Chilo". On 2020 he was awarded CJFB Performance Award 2019 as best lyricist. He had also worked with renowned Indian singers and composers including Grammy and Academy Award (Oscar) winner musician A. R. Rahman. He wrote the official theme song 'Ektai Achhe Desh' of the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Independence sang by fifty renowned singers of Bangladesh.

Sabila Nur is a Bangladeshi television actress. She got her breakthrough performing as "The Imaginary Girl" in a romantic comedy telefilm Monkey Bizness (2015). She performs in Bengali TV dramas and many TVC.

Ali Hossain was a Bangladeshi music composer. He was notable for the songs like "Osru Diye Lekha E Gaan", and "Holud Bato Mendi Bato". He has composed music for 42 films in his career. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for his music direction in the 1989 film Byathar Daan. He was honored at 12th Channel-i Music Awards (2017) for his contribution to Bangladeshi music.

The Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Editing is one of the highest film awards in Bangladesh. Since 1977, the awards are given in the category of best Editing. The first award winner was Bashir Hossain. Mujibur Rahman Dulu was awarded 8 times and Aminul Islam Mintu was awarded 4 times.

<i>Captain Khan</i> (film) 2018 film by Wajed Ali Sumon

Captain Khan is a 2018 Bangladeshi action thriller film directed by Wajed Ali Sumon and written by Delowar Hossain Dil. The film was produced by Selim Khan under the banner of Shapla Media. It features superstar Shakib Khan, Shabnom Bubly, Samraat, Misha Sawdagor and Ashish Vidyarthi in the lead roles. Also features Amit Hasan, Sadek Bachchu, Don and Shiba Shanu in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Anjaan starring Suriya and Samantha. The film had a nationwide theatrical release on Eid-ul-Adha 2018.

Swatta is a 2017 Bangladeshi romantic tragedy film. The film directed by Hashibur Reza Kallol and produced by Sohani Hossain under the banner of Taranga Entertainment. It is a story written by Sohani Hossain and a screenplay and dialogue written by Ferdous Hassan. The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam in the lead roles and Kabila, Nasrin, Rina Khan, Don and many have played supporting roles in the film.

The Mazharul Islam Poetry Award, is given by the Bangla Academy of Bangladesh in recognition of creative genius in advancement and overall contribution in the field of poetry. It was introduced in 2010 to honor the memory of Bangladeshi poet, folklorist, and academic Mazharul Islam.

"Tor Premete" also known songs first stanza as "Tor Premete Ondho Holam" is a National Award-winning song from the 2017 Bangladeshi romantic-drama film Swatta sung by James. The song composed by Bappa Mazumder and choreographed by Masum Babul. The lyrics of the song written by Sohani Hossain, the producer and story writer of the film, and Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam performed in the song. The song was released on Deco's YouTube channel under the banner of Qinetic Network on March 30, 2017.

Mohamed Pappu Hossain, is a Bangladeshi professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bangladesh Premier League club Abahani Limited Dhaka and the Bangladesh national team.

Mohammad Hossain Mondol was a renowned Bangladeshi agriculturist and researcher. He received the Independence Award in 2015 for his unique contribution to research and training.

Bay of Bengal is a Bangladeshi experimental rock/metal band formed in Chittagong in 2010. Their debut album Nirob Durvikkho was released in 2016. They are well known for their usage of distinct flutes and keyboard solos in their songs.
