Pirak is an archaeological site belonging to the Indus Valley civilization located in Balochistan, Pakistan. It is 20 km south of Sibi east of the Nari River. The mound is 8m high and covers approximately 12 acres (4.9 ha). The site of Pirak was first reported by Robert Raikes in 1963. It was excavated, between 1968 and 1974, before the well known sites of Mehrgarh or Nausharo by the French archaeological mission team led by Jean Marie Casal. According to the excavator, this site was occupied from c.1800 BCE to 800 BCE.

Bhirrana, also Bhirdana and Birhana, is an archaeological site, located in a small village in the Fatehabad district of the north Indian state of Haryana. Bhirrana's earliest archaeological layers predates the Indus Valley civilisation times, dating to the 8th-7th millennium BCE. The site is one of the many sites seen along the channels of the seasonal Ghaggar river, identified by ASI archeologists to be the Post-IVC, Rigvedic Saraswati river of ~1500 BCE.

Stig Riemmbe Gaelok was born on 7 July 1961 in Tysfjord Municipality. He is a Sami author who writes his books in Lule Same language (julevsámegiella) and Norwegian language (norsk). His first book, the poetry collection O, Oarjjevuodna, which was published in 1983, was the first collection of poems ever in Lule Same, and also the first book in Lule Same since Anta Pirak´s book Jåhttee saamee viessom, which was published 46 years earlier, in 1937, and was the first book ever written by a Lule Same author in Lule Same language.

Gilund is a village and an archaeological site located in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan state in western India. It is one of five ancient sites excavated in the Ahar-Banas Complex which also includes the sites of Ahar, Ojiyana, Marmi, and Balathal. Out of the 111 reported sites found in the Ahar-Banas Complex, Gilund is the largest. The archaeological site was named after the present-day village, Gilund, and is locally known as Modiya Magari which means "bald habitation mound".

Lars Pirak was a Lule and North Sámi artist, yoiker and duodji master from Jokkmokk, Sweden. The Faculty of Arts at the University of Umeå conferred an honorary Doctorate on Pirak in 2003 in recognition of his contribution to the Sámi culture.
