Dominica is an island in the Caribbean Sea, located about halfway between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Its coordinates are 15 25 N, 61 20 W. It is known as "The Nature Island of the Caribbean" due to its spectacular, lush, and varied flora and fauna, which is protected by an extensive natural park system. It is the fourth largest island in the Eastern Caribbean with a population of people mainly of African descent.
Roseau is the capital and largest city of Dominica, with a population of 14,725 as of 2011. It is a small and compact urban settlement, in the Saint George parish and surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, the Roseau River and Morne Bruce. Built on the site of the ancient Island Carib village of Sairi, it is the oldest and most important urban settlement on the island of Dominica.

Saint Andrew is one of Dominica's 10 administrative parishes. It is bordered by St. John and St. Peter, St. Joseph, and St. David.
Saint David is one of Dominica's ten administrative parishes, located on the eastern side of the island. It is bordered by St. Andrew to the north; St. Joseph, St. Paul and St. George to the west; and St. Patrick to the south. With that, it’s bordered by five other parishes, more than any other one in Dominica. It has an area of 131.6 km² (50.8 mi²), and has a population of 6,789.
Saint George is one of Dominica's 10 administrative parishes. It is bordered by Saint Paul and part of the Boeri River, Saint David and Saint Patrick, Saint Luke.
Saint John is one of Dominica's 10 administrative parishes. It is bordered by St. Andrew to the east, and St. Peter and the Espagnole River to the south. It has an area of 59 km² (22.78 mi²).
Saint Mark is one of Dominica's ten administrative parishes. It is bordered by St. Luke and St. Patrick. With an area of 9.9 km² (3.8 mi²), it is the second smallest in the island. It had a population of 1,834 people at the Population Census of 2011.
Saint Patrick is one of Dominica's 10 administrative parishes. It is bordered by St. George, St. Luke and St. Mark to the west, and St. David to the north. It has an area of 84.4 km² (32.59 mi²), and has a population of 8,383.
Portsmouth is the second largest town in Dominica, with 3,630 inhabitants. It is located on the shore of a natural Harbor, Prince Rupert Bay, in Saint John Parish on the north-west coast of Dominica. The area was called Ouyouhao by the Kalinago and Grand Anse by the French. The Indian River is Portsmouth’s southern border and Cabrits National Park is located on a peninsula to the north of town.
La Plaine is a village located on the eastern side of the island of Dominica. It has a population of 1,288, and is the second-largest settlement in Saint Patrick Parish.
Wesley is a village in Saint Andrew Parish in north-eastern Dominica. It situated between the old estates of Eden and Londonderry and 1 1/2 miles southeast of Woodford Hill. Like many other villages along the east coast, Wesley developed after Emancipation on hilly land along the boundary between the two estates as labourers sought to establish independent holdings for themselves away from the plantations where they had formerly lived and worked.
Colihaut is a coastal village in northern Dominica within Saint Peter Parish midway between the towns of Roseau and Portsmouth. It has a population of 773 people.
Mahaut is a village on the west coast of Dominica. It has a population of 2,399, which makes it the second largest commune in the parish of Saint Paul and was home to Dominica Colgate-Palmolive until the factory was closed in 2015 after Hurricane Erica.
Soufrière is a village on the southwest coast of Dominica. It is the capital of Saint Mark Parish and has a population of 1,416 people.
Saint Joseph is the chief settlement of Dominica's St. Joseph Parish. Its population is 2,029.
The Dominica Premier League is the top division for association football in Dominica, it was created in 1970. Eight teams participate in this league. Starting in 2005, the winner and runners-up can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup from the first round of the CFU Club Championship. The teams play an 18-matches league, in the end of that 18 matches the winner is declared the Dominica Champion and the 10th placed is relegated to Dominica First Division.
Canefield is a town located on the west coast of Dominica, north of Roseau and south of Massacre, overlooking Pringle's Bay. The largest settlement in St. Paul Parish, it has a population of 2,803. It is home to an industrial estate with Harris Paints Dominica Ltd., a branch of the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Old Mill Cultural Center and Museum as well as the island's second airport. Neighboring locales include Cochrane, Checkhall, Massacre and Fond Colé.
Dublanc is a village in Saint Peter parish on the west coast of Dominica between the town of Portsmouth and the village of Bioche. It sits on a low hillside at an elevation of 27. As of 2001 it had a population of 423.
Castle Comfort is a community in Saint George Parish, Dominica. 789 inhabitants live there and in neighbouring Wall House.
