Metropolitan Manila, formally the National Capital Region and commonly called Metro Manila, is the capital region and largest metropolitan area of the Philippines. The region is located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay, between the Central Luzon and Calabarzon regions. It consists of 16 highly urbanized cities: the City of Manila, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela, and one municipality: Pateros. The region encompasses an area of 619.57 square kilometers (239.22 sq mi) and a population of 13,484,462 as of 2020. It is the second most populous and the most densely populated region in the Philippines. It is also the 9th most populous metropolitan area in Asia and the 6th most populous urban area in the world.

The Nuestra Señora de Gracia Church, also known as Guadalupe Church, is a Baroque church in Makati City, Philippines. The parish church and its adjacent monastery are currently administered by the Augustinian friars of the Province of Santo Niño de Cebu. The territory of the parish covers San Carlos Seminary, the major seminary of the Archdiocese of Manila and Our Lady of Guadalupe Minor Seminary. The Catholic Church authorizes the use of exorcism for those who are believed to be the victims of demonic possession. In Roman Catholicism, exorcism is a sacramental but not a sacrament, unlike baptism or confession. Unlike a sacrament, exorcism's "integrity and efficacy do not depend ... on the rigid use of an unchanging formula or on the ordered sequence of prescribed actions. Its efficacy depends on two elements: authorization from valid and licit Church authorities, and the faith of the exorcist." The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "When the Church asks publicly and authoritatively in the name of Jesus Christ that a person or object be protected against the power of the Evil One and withdrawn from his dominion, it is called exorcism."
The San Pedro Macati Church, also known as Saints Peter and Paul Parish, or Makati Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Makati Poblacion, the oldest part of Makati and for that reason, the cultural and heritage barangay of Makati, Philippines. In front of the church facade is Plaza Cristo Rey, which was formerly the San Pedro de Macati Cemetery. The Poblacion Church is a government-recognized cultural property based on the official list provided by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. After 394 years, the church was re-dedicated; the first dedication happened in 1620 when it became a parish church, the next after the reconstruction of the facade in 1796 and finally again, on January 30, 2015. The dedication was led by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila, con-celebrated by Gerardo O. Santos, the then-parish priest, bishops, and priests.
Mylo Hubert Claudio Vergara is a Filipino bishop of the Catholic Church. He is the second and current Bishop of Pasig since 2011, Vice President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines since 2021, and the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of San Pablo since 2023. He had previously served as the third Bishop of San Jose from 2005 to 2011.
Embo, which stands for Enlisted Men's Barrio, refers to a collective term for ten barangays in Taguig, Philippines. The barangays were originally established to house military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The area were formerly disputed between the cities of Makati and Taguig, as well as the municipality of Pateros. As of November 2023, the barangays were transferred from Makati to Taguig.

In December 2022, Harriet Demetriou a devotee of the Vatican unrecognized Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace apparition filed a criminal case against exorcist priest Winston Cabading for offending religious feelings a violation under the Revised Penal Code. This complaint was made over his prior statements referencing the Marian apparition in a conference and an online show which the complainant is convinced to be a mockery against the devotion.
