Ratu Sakiusa Tuisolia also known as Tu Saki [1] is a Fijian chief from the province of Naitasiri, an economist and businessman, and a former civil servant who served for seven years as an economist with the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, then another seven years as Chief Policy Adviser to three successive Fijian Prime Ministers and was also Deputy CEO in the Office of the Prime Minister. He is married to Fijian lawyer Imrana Jalal. [1]

From 2003 to 2006, Tuisolia served as chief executive officer of the government-owned Airports Fiji Limited. He was dismissed by the military regime a few days after the 2006 Fijian coup d'état, on 12 December. [2] [3] When the Military accused him of "financial discrepancies", however, he reacted angrily, saying that was "a total and blatant lie". They are making these wild and falsified allegations to justify the coup. He accused the Military of conducting a witch hunt against him because he was known to be anti-coup and anti-military. [4]

In February 2008 he was charged with 22 counts of abuse of office and 22 counts of fraud by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption. [5] He subsequently resigned as president of the Fiji Rugby Union. [6] [7] He was acquitted of all charges in November 2010. [8] [9] Following the trial, he moved to the Philippines. [10]

In December 2009 he and his wife were charged by FICAC for illegally operating their business, a fish and chip shop. [11] This was reduced to a single count of giving false information to a public servant, [12] The case was dropped by the regime in June 2011. [13]

In 2009, Tuisolia was appointed Pacific Ocean 2020 Coordinator by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. [14] He currently works as a country representative for the Global Green Growth Institute. [15]

Keni Dakuidreketi is a former Fijian politician, who served as Minister for Youth, Employment Opportunities, and Minister for Sport in the interim Cabinet formed by Laisenia Qarase in the wake of the Fiji coup of 2000. He held office till an elected government took power in September 2001, then went back to running his very successful land valuation business. His friends call him Serea, after the part of Viti Levu that he hails from.

Imrana Jalal, also known as Patricia Jalal is a Fijian lawyer and activist of Indian descent, born on June 3, 1960 in Suva, Fiji to Sayed Abdul Jalal and Rosemary Jalal. She served as a Human Rights Commissioner on the Fiji Human Rights Commission, and human rights advisor to the Pacific Regional Rights Resource Team and the United Nations United Nations Development Program and as a member of the Geneva-based International Commission of Jurists, to which she was elected in May 2006. She is a founding member of the Fiji Women's Rights Movement. She continues to sit on its Board as a non-residential Permanent Founding Member. She is associated with the international networks Women Living Under Muslim Law (Pakistan), and the Asia Pacific Forum for Women, Law and Development (Thailand). Jalal worked at the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines for 7 years, as a Principal Social Development Specialist. Jalal was appointed to the Inspection Panel of the World Bank in January 2018 for a term of 5 years. She was made Chair of the Inspection Panel in December 2018 and will hold that position until June 2021, making her a Vice-President of the World Bank. Jalal is currently working full-time and is based in Washington, DC, USA at the World Bank HQ. The Inspection Panel is the World Bank's international accountability mechanism, receiving complaints against the Bank's projects and investments in the developing world.

Devanesh Sharma is a Fijian lawyer of Indian descent. He was the president of the Fiji Law Society for one year.
