Sakshi (transl.Witness) is a 1989 Telugu-language thriller film, produced by Vijay, Y. T. Naidu under the Sri Gayathri Kala Chitra banner and directed by P. N. Ramachandra Rao. It stars Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Lissy and music composed by Raj-Koti. [2] The film is a remake of the Malayalam movie Witness (1988). [3]

Plot

The film begins on Shekar (Chandra Mohan) who falsifies himself as a star hero before his villagers indeed a junior artist. Admitting it, his childhood friend Raja (Rajendra Prasad) reaches Madras to become a hero. After a lack of success, they settle as workers in a photo studio where they meet a college girl Swapna (Lissy). After a few petty quarrels, Raja & Swapna fall in love. Indeed, Swapna is an heir to a huge property surrounded by many enemies such as her maternal uncle Paramkusam, who is trying to usurp her wealth. Vinod (Ramaraju) a crook whom Swapna once slaps before everyone. Meanwhile, Raja & Shekar acquainted with an advocate, Bhuneswari Devi (Jayasudha) who likes their honesty and boosts their courage to start up a company We Help, a home delivery service. Eventually, Raja learns regarding the death threat behind Swapna and promises to protect her till his last breath. Next day when Raja & Shekar visit Swapna's house to convey birthday wishes. Here, as a flabbergast, they spot Swapna died and the people indicted in the crime. At Present, Inspector Rana Pratap (Raghuvaran) a powerful Police officer takes up the case and Bhuvaneswari Devi as defense counsel. Actually, both of them are divorced couples due to ego clashes. The rest of the story is a suspense thriller about the identity of the real killer and whether Bhuvaneswari Devi will be able to protect Raja & Shekar.
