The House of the Seven Gables is a 1668 colonial mansion in Salem, Massachusetts, named for its gables. It was made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1851 novel The House of the Seven Gables. The house is now a non-profit museum, with an admission fee charged for tours, as well as an active settlement house with programs for children. It was built for Captain John Turner and stayed with the family for three generations.
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, located in northern Georgia and southeastern Tennessee, preserves the sites of two major battles of the American Civil War: the Battle of Chickamauga and the Siege of Chattanooga. A detailed history of the park's development was provided by the National Park Service in 1998.
The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is a National Historic Site consisting of 12 historic structures, one replica tall-ship, and about 9 acres of land along the waterfront of Salem Harbor in Salem, Massachusetts. Salem Maritime is the first National Historic Site established in the United States. It interprets the Triangle Trade during the colonial period, in cotton, rum, sugar and slaves; the actions of privateers during the American Revolution; and global maritime trade with the Far East, after independence. The National Park Service manages both the National Historic Site and a Regional Visitor Center in downtown Salem. The National Park Service (NPS) is an agency of the United States Department of the Interior.
The Tippecanoe Battlefield Park preserves the location of the Battle of Tippecanoe fought on November 7, 1811.
The Essex Institute Historic District is a historic district at 134-132, 128, 126 Essex Street and 13 Washington Square West in Salem, Massachusetts. It consists of a compact group of properties associated with the Essex Institute, founded in 1848 and merged in 1992 into the Peabody Essex Museum. Listed by increasing street number, they are: the Crowninshield-Bentley House, the Gardner-Pingree House, the John Tucker Daland House, and the Phillips Library. The John Ward House, which fronts on Brown Street but shares the 132 Essex Street address, is another National Historic Landmark within the district. The Andrew Safford House at 13 Washington Square West, built in 1819, was said to be the most expensive home in New England at the time.
Fort Pickering is a 17th-century historic fort site on Winter Island in Salem, Massachusetts. Fort Pickering operated as a strategic coastal defense and military barracks for Salem Harbor during a variety of periods, serving as a fortification from the Anglo-Dutch Wars through World War II. Construction of the original fort began in 1643 and it saw use as a military installation into the 20th century. Fort Miller in Marblehead also defended Salem's harbor from the 1630s through the American Civil War. Fort Pickering is a First System fortification named for Colonel Timothy Pickering, born in Salem, adjutant general of the Continental Army and secretary of war in 1795. Today, the remains of the fort are open to the public as part of the Winter Island Maritime Park, operated by the City of Salem.
The Common Historic District is a historic district encompassing the civic and institutional heart of Reading, Massachusetts. The district is centered on the town common, at the intersection of Main and Salem Streets. The common has been communally owned since at least 1737, with the original burying ground to the north. In 1769 the area's first meeting house was built, giving the area a sense of identity separate from portions of Reading that would later be set off as Wakefield and North Reading. Since then the area has become a focal point for religious and civic institutions in the town.
The Harnden–Browne House is a historic house at 60-62 Salem Street in Reading, Massachusetts, exemplifying the adaptation of older buildings to new architectural styles. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1831 by Sylvester Harnden, likely in a Georgian-Federal vernacular style. Later in the 19th century it was restyled with some Queen Anne details, and converted to a boarding house. In 1928 it was owned by Thomas Browne, an Irish immigrant who first roomed in the house.
The Worcester City Hall and Common, the civic heart of the city, are a historic city hall and town common at 455 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The city hall and common were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
The House at 19–21 Salem Street in Wakefield, Massachusetts is an unusual 18th-century two-family residence. It is composed of two different houses that were conjoined c. 1795. The left house has a gabled roof and asymmetrical window placement, while the right house has a gambrel roof and an early 20th-century entry hood. It is probable that both houses were built by Joseph Gould, who occupied the eastern of the two houses, between 1765 and 1795. Despite subsequent alterations, the Georgian/Federal styling of the building remains apparent.

The Mount Tabor Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church building located along State Route 245 near West Liberty in Salem Township, Champaign County, Ohio, United States. Built in 1881 in the Gothic Revival style of architecture, it served a congregation formed in the 1810s. This congregation of the Methodist Episcopal Church worshipped in at least three different buildings before its closure.
The John Nicholas and Elizabeth Moyer House, also known as "Richland," is a historic home located in Jefferson Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Built circa 1817, it is a 2 1/2-story, four-over-four stone dwelling. A stone summer kitchen, which was built between 1818 and 1820, is attached to the rear. Frame additions were added in 1998.
Southwest Virginia Holiness Association Camp Meeting, also known as the Salem Camp Meeting, is a historic camp meeting complex located at Salem, Virginia. The complex consists of two buildings—a 1922 tabernacle and a dormitory, built about 1926. Both buildings are plainly detailed frame buildings with novelty weatherboard siding and poured concrete basement levels. The tabernacle measures approximately 60 feet by 80 feet and contains an auditorium designed for a capacity of 2,000 people. The dormitory is a two-story, three bay, building with a full-width one-story porch.
The Salem Common Historic District encompasses the early colonial center of Salem, New Hampshire. The district dates to the earliest period of settlement of Salem, and includes the historic common, old town hall, fire station, and library. The town hall was built in 1738 and extensively altered in 1838 and 1899; it served as a place for town meetings until 1958. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
Rock Springs Camp Meeting Ground is a historic Methodist camp meeting ground located near Denver, Lincoln County, North Carolina. The arbor was built in 1832, and is a rectangular open structure with a deep hipped roof and ventilation cap at the apex. It has a raised platform with a pine pulpit and seating for 1,000. The property has 288 numbered wooden "tents" placed in two and a partial third concentric ring around the arbor. Tent No. 1 is believed to date to the early-1830s. Rock Springs Camp Meeting Ground is the earliest camp meeting organization in North Carolina.
The Aliceton Camp Meeting Ground, at 657 Ward's Branch Rd. in Boyle County, Kentucky near Gravel Switch, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
