Speaking about the term "Sally", Hardwell said "Sally is a term in the rock industry that (has) been used by the Beatles and Eric Clapton." The song was created as he announced his intentions to create a crossover song between EDM and rock. [1]

Robbert van de Corput, known professionally as Hardwell, is a Dutch DJ and music producer from Breda. He was voted the world's number one DJ by DJ Mag in 2013 and again in 2014. In 2022, he was ranked at number 43 in the top 100 DJs poll by DJ Mag. He is best known for his sets at music festivals, including Ultra Music Festival, Sunburn and Tomorrowland.
W&W is a Dutch DJ and record production duo composed of Willem van Hanegem Jr. and Wardt van der Harst. They began their careers by producing trance music, before venturing into big room house and other forms of EDM.
Revealed Recordings is a Dutch record label established by Hardwell in 2010. The label is headquartered in Breda, Netherlands.
Daan Romers, better known by his stage name Dannic, is a Dutch DJ and EDM producer. He is known for his work in collaborations with Hardwell, Dyro, Sick Individuals, and publishes his music through the record label Revealed Recordings and his own label Fonk Recordings.
Vicetone is a Dutch electronic music production DJ duo formed by Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool from Groningen. The duo began as a DJ act, and in 2013, they were voted into the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list for the first time at 60th as a new entry. Later in 2014, they went up 24 places on the list, coming 36th. In 2015, they fell 14 places to 50th. They made a return to the Top 100, coming in at 83rd in 2019 but dropped out the subsequent year.

A second version called "Call Me a Spaceman" featuring vocals by Dutch singer Mitch Crown was released on 18 May 2012. Another vocal version was created in collaboration with Bright Lights. Despite Hardwell claiming that the latter was his favorite, his management decided to rather release "Call Me a Spaceman". Titled as "Mr. Spaceman" Bright Lights offered the track as a free download in late 2015. For "Spaceman"'s five-years anniversary he released the remastered Bright Lights version as "Mr. Spaceman ".
