St. Tammany Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana named after Tamanend, the legendary Lenape Chief of Chiefs and the "Patron Saint of America." At the 2020 census, the population was 264,570, making it the fourth-most populous parish in Louisiana. The parish seat is Covington. The parish was founded in 1810.

The Camp Salmen House is located on the shores of Bayou Liberty in St. Tammany Parish, west of Slidell, Louisiana, USA. It is a French Creole cottage, circa 1830. The house was built with a brick core, wood frame post rooms, a cabinet/loggia, and front gallery. The entire structure, including the front gallery, is approximately 1,692 square feet. The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 24, 2006. It is one of only fourteen examples of the period French Creole architecture in the parish. The National Register of Historic Places listings in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana lists 38 historic places in St. Tammany Parish.
Sharon Woodall Hewitt is a Republican member of the Louisiana State Senate for the 1st district, which encompasses portions of St. Tammany, Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard Parishes. In January 2016, she succeeded fellow Republican A. G. Crowe, who did not pursue a third term in the primary election held on October 24, 2015. She chairs the Republican Legislative Delegation in the state senate.
