Samuel L. Fiocchi (born October 1,1952) is an American Republican politician who represented the 1st Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from January 14,2014 to January 12,2016. He took office after he defeated Nelson Albano in the 2013 general election. [1]
Fiocchi was born and raised in Vineland,New Jersey and attended St. Augustine Preparatory School and Widener University. [2] Fiocchi had been a member of the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2011 to 2013 for one term and had been a member of the Vineland Zoning Board from 2009 to 2011. [3] He is also a real estate agent and served on the transition team for Chris Christie in 2010. [2]
During his term in the Assembly,he served on the Human Services,Regulatory Oversight,and Telecommunications and Utilities committees. [3] After serving one term,he and Republican running mate,Cumberland County Freeholder Jim Sauro,were defeated by incumbent Democrat Bob Andrzejczak and his running mate R. Bruce Land. [4]

Gibson also served in the Assembly from 1992 to 2002. He served in the Assembly on the Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Transportation Committees.
Nelson Albano is an American Democratic Party politician,who served in the New Jersey General Assembly where he represented the 1st Legislative District,having taken office on January 10,2006. Albano was elected to the Assembly on November 8,2005,unseating John C. Gibson,who had held the seat from 2004 to 2006.

Serena DiMaso is an American Republican Party politician who represented the 13th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2018 to 2022. She replaced Declan O'Scanlon,who ran successfully for a seat in the New Jersey Senate. DiMaso had previously served on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and as mayor of Holmdel Township. In June 2021,DiMaso lost the Republican Primary to Holmdel Board of Education President Vicky Flynn. DiMaso left office in January 2022.
Michael L. Testa Jr. is an American politician and lawyer who represents the 1st Legislative District in the New Jersey Senate. A Republican,Testa was elected to the state senate on November 5,2019 in the special election to fill the remaining 14 months of the unfinished term of Jeff Van Drew,who won a seat to the United States House of Representatives in 2018. He was sworn into office on December 5,2019.
The 2017 New Jersey General Assembly elections were held on November 7,2017,to elect members to all 80 seats of the New Jersey General Assembly. Prior to the elections,Democrats held a 52–28 majority in the lower house. Overall,the Democrats increased their majority by 2 to a super-majority at 54–26,due to holding all their seats as well as picking up open seats in District 2 and District 16. This tied Democrats for their largest majority since 1979.
The 1981 New Jersey State Senate elections were held on November 3. The New Jersey legislature reapportioned its state legislative districts in advance of the 1981 election. The new districts resulted in many senators running for re-election in newly re-numbered districts. The election coincided with a tightly contested gubernatorial election between Thomas Kean and James Florio. Republicans gained five seats,narrowing the Democratic majority to 22-18.
