Sam Gardel is an Australian Italian rugby league player who represented Italy in the 2013 World Cup.
Gardel played with the Whitsunday Brahmans from U6 to U16 before taking a break and returning to the club for four seasons of A-grade rugby. [2]
He currently plays for the Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup as a prop. [3] [4]
Gardel was eligible to represent Italy because his grandparents were born there. [5]
Brisbane Stadium (Lang Park), currently known as Suncorp Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in the suburb of Milton, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Nicknamed The Cauldron, it is a three-tiered rectangular sporting stadium with a capacity of 52,500. The Tonga national rugby league team represents Tonga in rugby league football. They are currently the fifth ranked team in the world. He is known as the defensive coach behind the Penrith Panthers back-to-back premierships in 2021 and 2022. He was previously the head coach of the Italy national team and an assistant coach of the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. During his playing career, Ciraldo played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Newcastle Knights and the Penrith Panthers, all in the NRL, and was selected to represent Italy. He primarily played as a second-row or lock.
