Samuel James George Whiteman (born 5 August 1982) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for Auckland in New Zealand domestic cricket.
Born in Auckland,Whiteman was educated at Saint Kentigern College,and played under-17 representative cricket for Auckland,later touring Australia with a national underage team. [1] In February 2001,he also played several matches for the New Zealand under-19 cricket team,against the touring South African under-19 team. [2] [3] Whiteman debuted for Auckland in the 2002–03 State Shield,against Central Districts at the Eden Park Outer Oval. [4] Playing as an all-rounder,Whiteman played one further List A match in the 2002–03 season,and the following season,in the first-class State Championship,he played two more games. [5] Whiteman subsequently retired from cricket,and moved to Sydney,Australia,to work in the finance industry,having attended Massey University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. [6] As of November 2012,he was a Senior Director at The Corporate Executive Board Company,having previously worked in positions with Virgin Money,ANZ,and the National Australia Bank. [7]

A right-handed batsman who also bowls occasional right-arm medium pace,Carl Cachopa debuted for the Auckland under-19s at the age of 16,during the 2002–03 National Under-19 Tournament,and made his senior debut late in the 2004–05 season of the State Championship,aged 18. The following season,when the West Indies toured,he was used as a substitute fielder during the first Test,and took a catch off the bowling of Shane Bond to dismiss Brian Lara.

Jeet Ashok Raval is a New Zealand cricketer. Raval is an opening batsman,who plays for New Zealand internationally and Northern Districts domestically. Originally from Ahmedabad in India,Raval played cricket for New Zealand's under-19 team and then spent eight years playing first-class cricket as an opening batsman for Auckland and Central Districts before being selected to play Test cricket for New Zealand for the first time in 2016. Christopher Mark Brown,more commonly known as Chris Brown,is a former Cook Islands cricketer,who previously played representative cricket for Auckland at New Zealand domestic level. Born in Rarotonga,Brown's early cricket was played for Auckland under-age teams,and he went on to represent the New Zealand national under-19s in several matches as a right-arm fast bowler. Making his first-class debut during the 1993–94 season of the Shell Trophy,he took ten wickets in his debut match,and represented the New Zealand Cricket Academy twice later in the season.
Lord Hawke selected a cricket team of ten amateurs and two professional players to tour Australia and New Zealand from November 1902 until March 1903. After an opening game in San Francisco,the tour began of eighteen matches - seven of them considered first-class - in New Zealand followed by three further first-class games in Australia. Hawke's team was the first to tour Australasia with New Zealand as the primary destination and,as was the norm at the time,was privately run and funded. The Australian leg of the tour was a "profit making venture",however the games in New Zealand were scheduled at the behest of the New Zealand Cricket Board in order to raise the profile of cricket in the country. Two of them were against a New Zealand cricket team,before its international Test status. The inclusion of such games on the tour were considered "a sign that cricket in New Zealand was starting to be taken more seriously,and a move towards official international status was possible."
