Samagowo [samaˈɡɔvɔ] (German : Sabangen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Olsztynek, within Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.^[1] It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Olsztynek and 21 km (13 mi) south-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.

Gmina Olsztynek is an urban-rural gmina in Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Olsztynek, which lies approximately 27 kilometres (17 mi) south-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).

East Prussia was a province of the Kingdom of Prussia from 1773 to 1829 and again from 1878 ; following World War I it formed part of the Weimar Republic's Free State of Prussia, until 1945. Its capital city was Königsberg. East Prussia was the main part of the region of Prussia along the southeastern Baltic Coast.
