Sandra Oblitas Ruzza (born 7 June 1969) is a Venezuelan public official who has been vice president and rector of the country's National Electoral Council (CNE). [1] She was involved in disruptions during the 2017 Venezuelan Constituent Assembly elections in Venezuela. [2]
Oblitas graduated from the Central University of Venezuela in sociology. She worked as an assistant at CNE beginning in 2003. [1]
Hernández has been sanctioned by several countries.
Canada sanctioned 40 Venezuelan officials, including Oblitas, in September 2017. [3] [4] The sanctions were for behaviors that undermined democracy after at least 125 people will killed in the 2017 Venezuelan protests and "in response to the government of Venezuela's deepening descent into dictatorship". [3] Canadians were banned from transactions with the 40 individuals, whose Canadian assets were frozen. [3]
In November, ten government officials, including Oblitas, were added to the list of Venezuelans sanctioned by the United States after the 2017 Venezuelan Constituent Assembly election; [2] the Treasury Department described the individuals as being "associated with undermining electoral processes, media censorship, or corruption in government-administered food programs in Venezuela". [5]
In March 2018, Panama sanctioned 55 public officials, including Oblitas. [6]
In June 2018, the European Union sanctioned eleven officials, including Oblitas, [7] in response to the May 2018 Venezuelan presidential election, which the E.U. described as "neither free nor fair", stating that "their outcome lacked any credibility as the electoral process did not ensure the necessary guarantees for them to be inclusive and democratic". [8]
On 10 July 2018, Sandra Oblitas Ruzza, among eleven Venezuelans previously sanctioned by the European Union in June 2018, was added to the sanctions list of Switzerland. [9] [10] [11]
Diosdado Cabello Rondón is a Venezuelan politician and current member of the National Assembly of Venezuela, where he previously served as Speaker. He is also an active member of the Venezuelan armed forces, with the rank of captain.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) is one of the five branches of government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that was designed to be independent. It is the institution that has the responsibility of overseeing and guaranteeing the transparency of all elections and referendums in Venezuela at the local, regional, and national levels. The creation of the CNE was ratified in Venezuela's 1999 constitutional referendum. Following the election of Nicolás Maduro – Hugo Chávez's handpicked successor – into the presidency, the CNE has been described as being pro-Maduro.

Tibisay Lucena was a Venezuelan politician, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) between 2006 and 2020, one of the five branches of government of Venezuela. In 2017, Lucena was sanctioned by several countries for her role in undermining democracy and human rights in the country.
Gladys María Gutiérrez Alvarado was the head of the Venezuelan Supreme Court from May 2013 until February 2017.
Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez is a Venezuelan politician serving as the vice president of Venezuela since 2018. She was also Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information of Venezuela from 2013 to 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2017 and President of the Constituent Assembly of Venezuela from 4 August 2017 to 14 June 2018. The European Union, the United States and Canada have placed sanctions on her.

In December 2014, he was elected "People's Defender", or Ombudsman, by the National Assembly for 2014–2021 term. Saab was appointed as President of the Republican Moral Council of Venezuela by the People's Power in 2015. On 5 August 2017, he was appointed as Prosecutor General of Venezuela by the National Constituent Assembly in substitution of Luisa Ortega Diaz.
During the crisis in Venezuela, governments of the United States, the European Union, Canada, Mexico, Panama and Switzerland applied individual sanctions against people associated with the administration of Nicolás Maduro. The sanctions were in response to repression during the 2014 Venezuelan protests and the 2017 Venezuelan protests, and activities during the 2017 Venezuelan Constituent Assembly election and the 2018 Venezuelan presidential election. Sanctions were placed on current and former government officials, including members of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) and the 2017 Constituent National Assembly (ANC), members of the military and security forces, and private individuals accused of being involved in human rights abuses, corruption, degradation in the rule of law and repression of democracy.

She is known for taking important political legal cases and for being the only civilian among seven officials sanctioned during the Barack Obama administration by the Executive Order 13692 in March 2015 due to human rights violations between February and March 2014.

Vivas formerly served as National Assembly deputy representing the Capital District for two consecutive periods. Elvis Eduardo Hidrobo Amoroso is a Venezuelan politician and lawyer who currently serves as the Comptroller General of Venezuela as of 23 October 2018. He also holds the presidency of the Republican Moral Council, also known as the Moral Power. In August 2017, he was elected as first and second vice president of the 2017 Constituent National Assembly and served until October 2017. He also served as a deputy to the National Assembly for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
Indira Maira Alfonzo Izaguirre is a Venezuelan judge who until May 2020 served as the first vice president of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela (TSJ) and as president of the Electoral Chamber. In June 2020, she sworn in as chief rector and president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) by the TSJ, to organize 2020 Venezuelan parliamentary election. Her position in the CNE is contested by the National Assembly, organism in charge of selecting the CNE members, but the parliament was deemed in “unconstitutional omission” by the TSJ.
