Murderecords is an independent record label that releases the music of the Canadian rock band Sloan. Originally formed in 1992 to produce just the records of that band, it later released work of other bands including Eric's Trip, The Hardship Post, Al Tuck, Stinkin' Rich, Hip Club Groove, The Inbreds, Thrush Hermit, and The Super Friendz, and was Canada's best-known indie label in the 1990s. Later, the roster was stripped bare, and released Sloan albums exclusively for nearly a decade. In 2008, however, albums by Will Currie and the Country French and Pony Da Look were released by the label.
Eric's Trip is a Canadian indie rock band from Moncton, New Brunswick. Eric's Trip achieved prominence as the first Canadian band to be signed to Seattle's flagship grunge label Sub Pop in the early 1990s. The band had a minor hit in alternative circles with the single "View Master", from the 1994 album Forever Again.
Julie Doiron is a Canadian singer-songwriter of Acadian heritage. She has been the bass guitarist and co-vocalist for the Canadian indie rock band Eric's Trip since its formation in 1990. She has released ten solo albums, beginning with 1996's Broken Girl, and is also the lead singer for the band Julie and the Wrong Guys.
Rick White is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, he was a member of indie bands Eric's Trip, Elevator, Perplexus, and The Unintended. White first played music, in a band called "Bloodstain", in 1984, before starting his own band "in 1986", called "T.C.I.B", which later transitioned into the band name, "The Underdogs", which lasted from the summer of 1987, until June 1988. By the summer of 1989, The Underdogs had broken up, and Rick had joined another band, "The Forest", which lasted from the 1989, until June 1990, with a one-off recording session happening in December, 1990. Prior to Eric's Trip, and while in Eric's Trip, White also recorded two solo-produced albums, one in March 1990, and another in August 1991, but both were not released until 2022. Known for lo-fi recording, he has also recorded and produced music for The Sadies, Orange Glass, Joel Plaskett, One Hundred Dollars, Dog Day, HotKid and his former Eric's Trip bandmate Julie Doiron.

Wooden Stars are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 1994. The band, from Ottawa, consists of vocalist and guitarist Julien Beillard, guitarist Michael Feuerstack, bassists Josh Latour and Mathieu Beillard, and drummer Andrew McCormack.
Tattle Tale was an American musical group that existed between 1992 and 1995. Composed of Jen Wood and Madigan Shive, they were active in the grrrl pop scene, playing what was later to be termed folk punk.
Plumtree was a Canadian indie rock/power pop band formed in 1993 in Halifax which consisted of sisters Carla and Lynette Gillis, Amanda Braden, Nina Martin, and later Catriona Sturton. The band achieved moderate success during their seven years of activity, completing several tours of Canada and parts of the U.S., as well as releasing three full-length albums, a six track EP, and various singles, before finally disbanding in June 2000. Their single "Scott Pilgrim" was the inspiration for the title character in the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

Broken Girl is the debut album by Julie Doiron, released in 1996. The album can be considered eponymous, in that Broken Girl was also the stage name Doiron adopted for this album. All of her subsequent albums, however, have been released under her own name.
More of Our Stupid Noise was a Canadian compilation album, originally released on Squirtgun Records. It was subsequently rereleased in 1998 on Nettwerk with the title More of Our Stupid Noise '98, with an altered track order and a few different songs.
Attack in Black was a Canadian indie rock band from Welland, Ontario, formed in 2003, whose music evolved from Hardcore punk to indie rock and folk rock.
Lost Wisdom is the second studio album by Mount Eerie, with Canadian musicians Julie Doiron and Frederick Squire. It was released on October 7, 2008 on P. W. Elverum & Sun, less than a month before Elverum's next album under the Mount Eerie name, Dawn, was released, which featured songs from this album. A follow-up album, Lost Wisdom pt. 2, was released in 2019, without Frederick Squire.
SappyFest is an annual independent arts and music festival held in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. Started by Paul Henderson, Jon Claytor, and musician Julie Doiron as an extension of Sappy Records, the festival launched 2006.
Chris Thompson is a Canadian musician who has performed in a variety of Maritime bands, including Eric's Trip, The Memories Attack, Orange Glass, and his solo project Moon Socket. Although Thompson was born in Ottawa, his family moved to Moncton, New Brunswick when he was five years old. Thompson began Moon Socket before Eric's Trip had broken up.
Eamon McGrath is a Canadian musician and writer from Edmonton, Alberta and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. On his own, his live performances are most often folk-oriented, where McGrath plays songs from his discography on acoustic instruments. However, with a band the live show takes on a much more high-energy, punk rock influenced vein.
Squirtgun Records was an independent record label founded by Lee Maslin in 1994 specializing largely in releases by Canadian rock bands.
Derivative Records was a Canadian independent record label, founded in 1992, in Montréal, Québec by Patti Schmidt and Kevin Komoda. The label was originally founded as "a cassette & 7-inch only-label." As demand and production ramped up to include other areas such as the United States and Europe, the label brought in Pat Hamou and Genevieve Heistek to help out. Artists in which the label had releases by were both international-based artists, such as Chicago's Number One Cup, London's Spool, and Switzerland's Sportsguitar, as well as Canadian-based, such as Eric's Trip, jale, Pest 5000, and Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet.
