Sara Goller is a former professional German beach volleyball player. [1]

Initially paired with Frederike Romberg, Goller won the U20 European Championships in Salzburg [2] before changing to her current partner, Laura Ludwig. Together, Goller and Ludwig became 2006 German champions, [2] won the U23 European Championships in St. Pölten [2] and ended fourth in the women's European Championships the same year in The Hague. [2] They continued their line of success in 2007, defending the German title and winning the silver medal in the European Championships in Valencia. [2] Goller and Ludwig ended the 2007 season as leaders in the German women's ranking and are placed 7th overall. [2]

She won 2 silver medals at the 2007 and 2009 European Beach Volleyball Championships and 2 golden medals at the 2008 and 2010 Beach ECH alongside her former teammate Laura Ludwig.

They competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing in 9th place at the 2008 Olympics and reaching the quarterfinals in 2012. [3]

She added another medal, Gold, at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto. In 2017, she and Walkenhorst won the World Championship in Vienna.

Jonas Reckermann German beach volleyball player

Jonas Reckermann is a retired beach volleyball player from Germany. Together with his most recent partner Julius Brink, he won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which, along with Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst are the most successful Olympic appearances of a German beach volleyball team. They were the first European duo to win the Olympic gold medal – male or female competition. In addition to that they also were the first European team ever to win a world championship title and are currently ranked 22nd on the FIVB World Tour.

Beach volleyball at the Summer Olympics

Beach volleyball was introduced at the Summer Olympic Games in the 1992 Games as a demonstration event, and has been an official Olympic sport since 1996. The United States is the only country to win medals in every edition, followed by Brazil, who had their medal streak broken in the 2020 tournament.

Niverka Marte Dominican Republic volleyball player

Niverka Dharlenis Marte Frica is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic. She played the 2012 Summer Olympics with the Dominican Republic national team ranking in fifth place. She also played the 2010 and the 2014 World Championship earning the 17th place and the fifth place and the 2011 and the 2015 FIVB World Cup with her national team ranking in the eight and seventh place. April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions. She married Men’s Beach Volleyball player Bradley Keenan in 2010. They divorced in 2018. Ross got engaged to Josh Riley in summer 2022.

Summer Ross is an American beach volleyball player. She was the FIVB 2010 Youth Under-19 and Junior Under-21 world champion, the only player to win both titles in the same year and was named 2010 USA Volleyball Beach Female Athlete of the Year. As of 2018, her partner is Sara Hughes.

Ilka Semmler German beach volleyball player

Ilka Semmler is a German retired beach volleyball player. From 2006 to 2016, she played with Katrin Holtwick. They competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where they were eliminated in the first knock-out round by the other German team of Ludwig and Goller.

Karla Borger German beach volleyball player

Karla Borger is a German beach volleyball player. She won a silver medal at the 2013 World Championships alongside her teammate Britta Büthe. In 2014 they won the German Championship. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she competed in women's beach volleyball with teammate Britta Büthe. They were defeated by the Brazilian team of Larissa França and Talita Antunes in the round of 16. After Büthe quit professional beach volleyball in 2016, Borger teamed up with Margareta Kozuch until 2018. When Kozuch decided to play with Laura Ludwig, she formed a new team with Julia Sude and won the German Championship in 2019. The team qualified for participation in the Beach volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Bárbara Seixas Brazilian beach volleyball player

Bárbara Seixas de Freitas is a Brazilian beach volleyball player, playing as a defender. In 2012, she was named FIVB top Rookie of the year. Seixas is a three-time youth World Champion and has reached the podium in several FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour tournaments. She won a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships alongside her teammate Liliane Maestrini, and per 13 August 2013 they rank third among the women's money leaders with $108,875.

She is the 2021 European Champion and the silver medallist at the 2018 and 2022 European Championships. With her former partner Nicole Eiholzer, she won the gold medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Alongside Hüberli, Betschart has won combined total of 1 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals on FIVB World Tour and its successor Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Betschart / Hüberli team represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they finished in ninth place and played a pivotal role at their country's triumph in the women's event of the inaugural CEV Beach Volleybal Nations Cup in 2022. They achieved a career-high World ranking of No. 2 in November 2021.

Sara Hughes American beach volleyball player

Sara Elizabeth Hughes is an American beach volleyball player. With teammate Summer Ross, she achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 9 in August 2018. Hughes has won three tournaments on the AVP Pro Tour, two gold and three bronze medals on the FIVB World Tour, and one gold medal on the FIVB Pro Beach Tour.

Lena Maria Plesiutschnig is an Austrian professional beach volleyball player who plays as a left-side blocker with her partner Katharina Schützenhöfer. She won the silver medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Her first and only FIVB World Tour victory so far, came at a 3-star event in Mersin in 2018. She won a silver medal at the 2011 U19 World Championship and a bronze medal at the 2013 U21 World Championship, both competitions were held in Umag. She is also the 2011 U20 European Champion with Schützenhöfer.

Kelly Marie Cheng (Claes) is an American beach volleyball player. She and her partner Sara Hughes won the bronze medal at the 2013 U19 World Championships, the silver medal at the 2014 U21 World Championships, and back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2016 and 2017.
