Sara Haider is a Pakistani singer-songwriter and musical and film actress from Karachi. She started her music career as a backing vocalist and later became singer at Coke Studio. She has also won a Lux Style Award after making debut in Coke Studio. [1] [2]

Life and career

Sara Haider was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She started her career as a musical actress by performing in stage musical Grease. [3] She also performed at Ufone Uth Records and Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival in India. [4] [5] In 2014, Sara joined Coke Studio season 7 where she served as backing vocalist. She gained public recognition in Coke Studio season 8 where she made her debut with the song "Ae Dil" featuring Ali Zafar [6] [7] She has also won Lux Style Awards for "Best Emerging Talent". [8] She will make her debut in film by appearing in the upcoming short-drama film Khaemae Mein Matt Jhankain [9] which is scheduled for release at Zeal for Unity film festival in India and Pakistan. She graduated from American Academy of Dramatic Arts [10] and won the prestigious Charles Jehlinger Award. [11]

Strings was a Pakistani pop/rock band composed of two members, plus four live band members from Karachi, Pakistan. The band was initially formed by four college students—Bilal Maqsood, Faisal Kapadia (vocals), Rafiq Wazir Ali (synthesizer) and Kareem Bashir Bhoy —in 1988. In 1992 the quartet disbanded, only to make a comeback with Maqsood and Kapadia in 2000. Sohai Ali Abro is a Pakistani actress, dancer and model, who appears in Pakistani television serials and films. She is known for her roles in serials such as Geo TV's Saat Pardon Mein (2012), Hum TV's Tanhai (2013), Khoya Khoya Chand (2013), Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se (2013) and ARY Digital's serial Pyaray Afzal (2014). Shuja Haider or Shuja Hyder is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. "Afreen Afreen" is a nazm (song) performed and composed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar. It first featured on their collaborative album Sangam in 1996. In 2016, it was covered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan during season 9 of Coke Studio.

Aima Baig is a Pakistani singer. She is known for her appearances on Dunya News' program Mazaaq Raat from 2015 to 2017. She rose to fame from her songs in Lahore Se Aagey (2016), after which she gained popularity through many other soundtracks and her appearance in Coke Studio. She was awarded Tamgha-e-Fakhre-Imtiaz in August 2019.

"Man Aamadeh Am" is a Persian song, sung by Iranian singer Googoosh for the album Pol in 1975. The song was written by Googoosh’s Afghan friend Jalil Zaland and gifted to Googoosh after she visited Afghanistan.
