The Ugandan water supply and sanitation sector made substantial progress in urban areas from the mid-1990s until at least 2006, with substantial increases in coverage as well as in operational and commercial performance. Sector reforms from 1998 to 2003 included the commercialization and modernization of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) operating in cities and larger towns, as well as decentralization and private sector participation in small towns.

Hilary Obaloker Onek is a Ugandan engineer and politician. He is the current Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2013. He replaced Tarsis Kabwegyere. Prior to that, Hilary Onek served as the Minister for Energy & Minerals, from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. Before that, he served as Uganda's Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries from 2006 to 2009. He is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) representing Lamwo County, Lamwo District. He was first elected to Parliament in 2001.
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is a water supply and sanitation company in Uganda. It is wholly owned by the government of Uganda.
Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa is a Ugandan accountant and business administrator. She serves as the Permanent Secretary in the Uganda Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. She was appointed permanent secretary on the 15th July 2021.

She is the immediate past deputy executive director of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). She was appointed to that position in December 2012. Patrick Michael Ayota is a Ugandan accountant and corporate executive. He is the Deputy Managing Director of the National Social Security Fund of Uganda, effective 29 October 2017. He also concurrently serves as the Chairman of the New Vision Group, a media conglomerate, partly owned by the Government of Uganda.

Badru Malimbo Kiggundu is a Ugandan civil engineer, academic and consultant, who serves as the chairman of the presidential select committee responsible for the supervision of the successful completion of both Isimba Hydroelectric Power Station and Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station. He was appointed to that position by Yoweri Museveni, the president of Uganda in August 2016. He concurrently serves as the Chairman of the board of directors of National Water and Sewerage Corporation. He was appointed to that position on 20 July 2020, replacing Christopher Ebal, whose contract expired.
Bugoloobi Wastewater Treatment Plant (BWTP), also Bugoloobi Sewerage Treatment Plant (BSTP), is a wastewater treatment project in Uganda. It is the largest wastewater treatment plant in the countries of the East African Community, and capable of processing 45,000,000 liters (45,000 m3) of wastewater daily.
Anne Abeja, is a Ugandan lawyer and corporate executive, who, since October 2013, serves as the Company Secretary and head of the legal department at Housing Finance Bank, a Ugandan retail commercial bank.
Lorna Magara is the first woman to be elected chairperson of the Makerere University Council, since the founding of the university in 1922. She was elected to a renewable four-year term, effective 20 December 2018. The Council is a 27-member body that serves as the supreme governing organ of Uganda's largest and oldest public university.

Peninnah Tukamwesiga,, is a Ugandan lawyer, who specializes in employment and labor matters. As of March 2019, she serves on the board of the Uganda National Social Security Fund. NSSF Uganda is a retirement benefits company, with nearly US$3 billion in total assets, as of June 2018.
Pheona Nabasa Gladys Wall, commonly known as Pheona Wall, is a Ugandan lawyer, Public Relation Officer and serves as the president of Uganda Law Society since September 2020. She served as a lecturer of Law at Kampala International University.
Winifred Mary Tarinyeba Kiryabwire, , is a Ugandan lawyer, academic and businesswoman who is the chairperson of DFCU Bank, a large commercial bank in that East African country. She was appointed to that position effective 1 April 2022.
Silver Mugisha, is a Ugandan civil engineer and corporate executive, who serves as the managing director and chief executive officer of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), since August 2013. Before that, he served as the chief manager responsible for "Institutional Development and External Services" at the NWSC.
