Sarita Adhana (born 1 January 1987) [1] is an Indian paralympic archer. She qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris in the women's Individual compound event of Archery competitions. [2] She lost in the quarterfinals at Paris Paralympics.

Career

She represented India at the 2022 Asian Para Games held at Gangzhou, China. [3] [4] [5] She won a bronze medal in the Women's compound archery open section of the Para Asian Archery Championship winning the all-Indian play-off for bronze defeating compatriot Jyoti Baliyan 139–135. [6] She also won a silver medal in the team event along with Sheetal Devi, to whom she lost the semifinal in the individual event. [7] [8]


She trained for the 2023 Asian Games at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine's sports complex at Katra. [9]

In November 2023, she won a bronze medal at the Asian Para Archery Championships in Bangkok. [10] Later, she qualified for the Paralympics at the same tournament. [11] [12] [13]

In the Women's 100 m T12, she qualified first in her heat with a season's best of 12.33s but could only finish 4th in the finals despite a better time of 12.31 s.

Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan is an Indian para-badminton player. She won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in the women's singles event. Sivan has also won three bronze medals at the 2022 Asian Para Games in the singles, mixed and women's doubles events.

Pooja Jatyan is a para archer from Haryana. She is the first para athlete from India to take part in an Olympic Archery event at the Rio Paralympics 2016. She took part in the recurve women's open competition and qualified for the Rio event at the final world qualifier in the Czech Republic in 2016. She qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France, her second Olympics.

Shialesh Kumar is a para jumper from Bihar. He represented India in the men's high jump at the 2022 Asian Para Games at Hangzhou, China. He won a gold medal in the men's T63 high jump event clearing 1.82 meters on 23 October 2023. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris.

Himanshu Nandal is an Indian para swimmer known for his national and international competitions accomplishments. Born in Rohtak, Haryana, Nandal is 100 percent visually impaired due to optic nerve failure from birth. Nandal won two gold medals and set a national record at the National Para Swimming Championship Udaipur in March 2022. He won three gold medals and set three national records at the National Para Championship Guwahati in November 2022.

Pooja Ojha is an Indian para athlete from Madhya Pradesh who competes in canoeing. She qualified for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in the canoeing women's KL1 event. India earned quota places for the following events through the 2023 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany; and 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, Hungary. Earlier, she represented India at the 2022 Asian Para Games at Hangzhou, China.

Shyam Sundar Swami is an Indian para archer from Rajasthan. He qualified for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris in the men's Individual compound event of Archery competitions. He qualified for the Paris Olympics at the World Para Championships in June 2019 at Hertogenbosch with a ninth-place finish.

Nihal Singh is an Indian para shooter from Rajasthan. He competes in the P3 25m pistol individual event in SH1 category. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris. Despite his quota berth in 50m pistol event being surrendered due to new limitation of quotas per country in each category, he made it to the Paralympics in the P3 25 m pistol SH1 event and also played the mixed event. He finished 10th with a score of 569 in the qualification round and missed the finals. In the P4 50 m pistol SH1 event, he scored 522 and finished 19th in the qualification round.
