Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is a public technical and research university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act.

The Government of India is constructing a new airport terminal at Mawaiya village with capacity to handle 300 passengers per hour and six airplanes at a time. Construction of new terminal would be completed by September 2021. Once completed, it would pave way for easier connectivity to major tourist attractions like Bithoor, Sankissa, Etawah Safari Park, Jhansi-Orchha, Kalinjar Fort, Kalpi, National Chambal Sanctuary and Kannauj which are in close proximity to Kanpur.
