The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964, initially consisting of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. The group came to prominence playing rhythm and blues. They made some changes in musicians but settled on a line-up of Pinder, Thomas, Edge, guitarist Justin Hayward, and bassist John Lodge, who stayed together for most of the band's "classic era" into the early 1970s. Edge was the group’s sole continuous member throughout their entire history.
Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by English prog rock band The Moody Blues, released in November 1967 by Deram Records. With its fusion of orchestral and rock elements, it has been cited as one of the first examples of progressive rock.
A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra is a live album by The Moody Blues, recorded from a live performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on 9 September 1992. This performance was the first time The Moody Blues performed in concert backed by a full orchestra. They subsequently toured, performing with regional orchestras throughout. The concert was held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their second, but most renowned album, Days of Future Passed, which also featured the London Festival Orchestra. The full video of this concert was broadcast as a fundraising broadcast for PBS in the United States.

The album consists of five cover versions of songs originally written and recorded by members of the Gibb family and five live versions of songs from the Foo Fighters' 2021 album Medicine at Midnight on its B-side. The name "Dee Gees" is a play on both the Bee Gees and Dave Grohl's initials; the album title is a play on satin and the phrase "hail Satan." It is the last album to feature drummer Taylor Hawkins before his death on March 25, 2022.
