He is widely regarded as one of the best singers in Bhojpuri film industry. He began his musical career by working behind the scenes, playing harmonium in musical concerts. BJP declared his as a party Candidate to 2024 Indian General Election for Asansol Lok Sabha constituency but Singh denied to contest election from there. Later on, he decided to contest election from Karakat Lok Sabha constituency as a Independent candidate. He was defeated with a margin of over one lakh votes by Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha in this election.
