Athletics

Scotland is a member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). Their team name is the "Fighting Scots." Recent state championships include the 2006 4A North Carolina baseball championship in Raleigh, NC, and the 2011 4A North Carolina football championship in Winston-Salem, NC. [2] Scotland High School is also known for its kilted marching band.

Millbrook High School is a public high school located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The school is part of the Wake County Public School System. In 2006, Millbrook finished the renovation of its campus which includes a new three-level building, a new courtyard for students, and a larger cafeteria making MHS one of the largest and up to date facilities in the WCPSS system. Millbrook has a monthly newspaper named the Cat Talk, named after their mascot, "Wiley the Wildcat". Performing arts include marching band, drama, choir, dance, technical theater, and an orchestra. In 2009, Millbrook High School was granted International Baccalaureate status by the North Carolina Board of Education. The changes were implemented with the incoming class in the 2011–2012 school year.

He stood 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m), weighing 205 pounds. Covington batted left-handed and threw right-handed.

James Thomas Riggs is a former American football tight end in the National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Redskins. Riggs played for Scotland High School in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He played college football at Clemson University and was drafted in the fourth round of the 1987 NFL Draft.

T. Wingate Andrews High School is a public magnet high school in High Point, North Carolina and part of the Western region of the Guilford County school district. The school enrolls students in grades 9 through 12, follows the traditional school calendar, and runs on a daily schedule of 4 blocks, with lunch periods for students during their 3rd block. Andrews has been designated to receive additional support, resources, and incentives as a federal Title I school.

Murphy High School (MHS) is a public high school in Murphy, North Carolina, it serves grades 9–12 and is one of only three high schools in the Cherokee County Schools. As of 2007 it had a full-time teaching staff of 42 teachers giving an average of 12 students per teacher. It has a GreatSchools rating of 5/10 and an average community rating of 4/5 stars. In 2019-20 average daily membership was 451. By 2025, as a result of a May 2020 vote by the Cherokee County Board of Education, students from the county's three high schools will attend one high school.

Rush Brown Jr. was a professional American football player who played defensive tackle for four seasons for the NFL's St. Louis Cardinals. He started 32 of his first 41 games, but appeared in only six of his last 16 games. Brown was selected to the NFL All-Rookie Team in 1980.

The Lane Dragons football program of Jackson, Tennessee competes in Division II of the NCAA as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are led by head coach Vyron Brown, a former Grambling State University player and offensive coordinator.
