Sean Flaherty (born June 11,1985) is an American former member of the Maine House of Representatives.
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from George Washington University in 2007. He then went on work for the American Association for Justice. On November 4,2008,Flaherty defeated incumbent John F. McDonough,winning 56 percent of the vote. Flaherty was sworn in as a member of the Maine House of Representatives December 3,2008. [1] [2]
Flaherty was an accomplished swimmer,who as of 2012,is the record-holder for the fastest time in the annual 2.4 mile (3,960 yard-freestyle) Peaks to Portland open water swim. Flaherty's time in the 2001 race was 40:30.18 which remains the fastest time in the 30 years the race has been staged. [3]
On August 8,2010,he was involved in a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Interstate 295 in Maine. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. [4]
He lost his 2010 re-election bid to Republican Amy Volk. [5]
Michael Herman Michaud is an American businessman and politician from Maine. Michaud served as the U.S. representative for Maine's 2nd congressional district from 2003 to 2015. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The primarily rural district comprises nearly 80% of the state by area and includes the cities of Lewiston,Auburn,Bangor,Presque Isle,and Ellsworth. It is the largest Congressional district by area east of the Mississippi River.

John Eder is an American activist and politician from Maine. Eder lives in Waterboro. He is a former member of the Maine Green Independent Party and the Maine Democratic Party. He served in the Maine House of Representatives as the legislature's first member of the Green Party for two terms and was elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2004. Until his defeat in 2006 Eder was one of only a handful of independent or third party state legislators in the country and was the highest-ranking elected Green official in the United States. Eliot Raphael Cutler is an American former lawyer,political candidate,and sex offender. He was twice an Independent candidate in Maine's 2010 and 2014 gubernatorial races. In 2010,he placed second in a multi-way race,receiving 208,270 votes,equaling 35.9%,narrowly losing to Republican Paul LePage. In 2014 he garnered only 8.4%,placing third behind both the Democratic candidate as well as LePage,who was re-elected with 48.2% of the vote. Cutler had previously served in the Carter Administration as part of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. In May 2023,Cutler pled guilty to four counts of possessing child pornography,after being arrested in March 2022.

Rachel Talbot Ross is an American politician and activist. A Democrat from Portland,Talbot has been the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives since December 2022. When she was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2016,Talbot Ross became the first Black woman to serve in the Maine Legislature. Talbot Ross represents District 40,consisting of the Parkside,Bayside,East Bayside,and Oakdale neighborhoods of Portland as well as the University of Southern Maine campus. She became Maine's first African-American House Speaker,and the highest-ranking African-American politician in Maine history,when she was elected speaker on December 7,2022.
