Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix is a remix album by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson. It was released on May 20, 1997, by Epic Records, and is the second album released by Jackson's own record label, MJJ Productions. The album is made up of eight remixes from Jackson's previous studio album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I and five new songs. Jackson was heavily involved with the production of the new material while the remixes were produced by other artists. Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix incorporates R&B, pop, industrial, hip hop, house, funk and new jack swing. It concerns themes such as drug addiction, sex, relationships and paranoia.

Manuel Joseph "Man" Parrish is an American composer, songwriter, vocalist and producer. "Finally" is the 1991 debut single by American musician CeCe Peniston from her debut album, Finally. "Finally" became Peniston's first hit song, peaking at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 in January 1992 and becoming her only US top-ten hit to date. Prior to that, the track was a major success on the US Dance charts, where it spent two weeks at number one in late 1991. Endorphin is the stage name of Eric Chapus, an electronic act and music teacher. Since 1984 he has lived in Australia originally at Kuranda, where he started his musical career. He has released six studio albums, Embrace (1998), Skin (1999), AM:PM (2001), Seduction (2003), Shake It... (2004) and Soon After Silence (2007). At the ARIA Music Awards of 1998 Embrace was nominated for Best Dance Release. Skin reached No. 32 on the ARIA Albums Chart and at the related ARIA awards ceremony he was nominated for Best Male Artist. Endorphin teaches courses in Composition and Music Production at the Australian Institute of Music.

Skin is a studio album by Australian musician Katie Noonan. It was released in August 2007 and peaked at number 6 on the Australian ARIA Charts. Noonan says: "I love the themes I explored on this album – I was a madly in love newlywed, experiencing the miracle of pregnancy – it was quite a trip to document! I learn’t a huge amount making this album and I am really grateful for the arduous journey I took with this process, as since then, it has confirmed my instinct to listen to and trust my inner voice."

There are a total of 61 tracks spread across three discs. This was the first of the Sessions compilations to contain 3 disks, the previous having 2. Disc one was mixed by Goodwill, Disc two was mixed by Tommy Trash and Disc three was mixed by Dirty South. Remixes of tracks by some big-name artists on the compilation include The Presets, Calvin Harris, Lady Sovereign, Lily Allen, La Roux, The Ting Tings and The All-American Rejects. "Sessions Six" finished 2009 with the Number 2 position in the ARIA 2009 End Of Year Top 50 Dance Albums Charts and in position 4 of the ARIA Top 50 Compilations Chart for 2009.
