The Selangor Masters is a golf tournament on the Asian Development Tour, played in Malaysia. Originally an event on the Asian Tour, the inaugural tournament was held in 2008 at the Seri Selangor Golf Club and the prize fund was US$300,000. Malaysian native Ben Leong won the inaugural tournament. The 2014 prize fund was RM1,300,000.

The European Tour, currently titled as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, and legally the PGA European Tour or the European Tour Group, is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men's professional golf in Europe. The tour's headquarters are at the Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. The Royal Selangor Golf Club is a golf course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Established in 1893, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia. The club is open only to members. Its entrance is located at the intersection of Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Tun Razak, the latter of which runs along the length of the club. It has two 18-hole championship courses, the Old Course and the New Course, and a 9-hole course.

The Volvo Masters of Asia was the final event of the season on golf's Asian Tour until 2008.

It was held from 27 to 29 March at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The match ended in a 10–10 tie and, under the rules of the inaugural event, the Cup was shared between the teams.

The Sime Darby Harvard Championship was a men's professional golf tournament held in Malaysia co-sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour and the Professional Golf of Malaysia Tour. The tournament was first played in 2013 as the Sime Darby Harvard Masters and the inaugural winner was James Bowen.

The 2016 European Tour was the 45th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The Maybank Championship was a professional golf tournament, co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the European Tour, that was played annually in Malaysia. The tournament was founded in 2016 by sponsors Maybank, who had previously sponsored the Malaysian Open, with the inaugural tournament played from 18–21 February at Royal Selangor Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur. It had a purse of US$3,000,000.

The Saudi International, currently titled as the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament. It was held at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia, from 2019 until 2023. The tournament moved to Riyadh Golf Club for the 2024 edition. The tournament has been title sponsored by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), a Saudi government sovereign wealth fund since 2022.

The Asia Golf Circuit was the principal men's professional golf tour in Southeast Asia from the early 1960s through to the mid-late 1990s. The tour was founded in 1961 as the Far East Circuit. The first series of five tournaments was held in 1962 and consisted of the national open championships of the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, plus a final tournament held in Japan. The tour gradually grew over the subsequent years, eventually becoming a regular ten tournament circuit in 1974.
