Sentiment is an album by Canadian-American musician Claire Rousay, released on April 19, 2024, through Thrill Jockey. [2] [3]

Background and release

Rousay characterized Sentiment as more pop-oriented than her previous work. [3] In an interview with Stereogum to promote the album, she described her sound as "emo ambient". [4]

Released on April 19, 2024, Sentiment marked Rousay's debut on the Thrill Jockey record label. The album was the first of three records Rousay completed ahead of signing to the label. [4]

Marisa Anderson is an American guitarist and composer based in Portland, Oregon. She is primarily known for mixing American primitive guitar with various genres from throughout the United States and the rest of the world, and for her largely improvised compositions. Though primarily known for playing acoustic and electric guitars, she has also played keyboards and other instruments on her albums. Anderson grew up in Sonoma, California, and after dropping out of college, travelled around the United States and Mexico for several years before settling in Portland.

"Happiness" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, taken from her ninth studio album, Evermore (2020). She wrote the song with Aaron Dessner, who produced it using an instrumental track he had written since 2019. A midtempo ambient ballad, "Happiness" has piano, guitar and synthesizer instrumentation generated by a slow drone that build up. Its lyrics are about a narrator finding happiness after a divorce.
