Seppo Sakari Jokinen (born 13 April 1949) is a Finnish writer of crime fiction.

His books' main character is the fictional police officer Sakari Koskinen from Hervanta, Tampere. Koskinen is divorced and has a son named Antti. The books are published by CrimeTime.

Jokinen himself was born in Tampere. He spent nearly four years in Australia after serving in the army in the early 1970s. He was for many years the main operator in the Tampere city IT centre. [1]

Jokinen's most recent novel, Mustat sydämet ("Black Hearts"), was published in Finland in 2014. The novel Hukan enkelit was published in English in 2012 as Wolves and Angels by Ice Cold Crime. [2]

VR Class Hv1

The Finnish Hv1 class was a 4-6-0 express passenger train locomotive. 42 were built between 1915 and 1921. They were numbered 545–578 and 648–655.

VR Class Vr1

Before 1942 VR Class Vr1s originally had the class name was L1. The Vr1 was a powerful and effective locomotive. Part of them were built by Tampella and part by Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG of Germany. They were numbered 530–544, 656–670, 787–799 and were nicknamed “Kana” ("Hen"). They were operation from 1913-1974.

VR Class Vr3

The VR Class Vr3 was a class of steam locomotive built in Finland. Before 1942, the class was known as O1. They were nicknamed Kukko and they have the same frames and boiler as the Vr Class Pr1 (Paikku) locomotive. The first locomotive was ordered in 1924 from Hanomag of Germany, number 10 351 and it was numbered 752. The remaining 4 were produced by Tampella Oy in Tampere. They were numbered 752 to 756.

Battle of Ahvenkoski

The Battle of Ahvenkoski was fought during the Finnish Civil War between 10 April and 5 May 1918 at Ahvenkoski, Finland between the German Empire and the Red Guards of the Finnish Socialist Workers' Republic, more commonly known as Red Finland. For most of the battle both sides occupied trenches along the Kymi river. Ahvenkoski and the surrounding Kymi valley region were the last strongholds of the Reds. The battle ended with the surrender of the last of the Red Guards on 5 May, which ended the war with White Finland and Germany defeating Red Finland.

Eino Pekkala

Eino Oskari Pekkala was a Finnish lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Socialist Electoral Organisation of Workers and Smallholders 1927–1930 and the Finnish People's Democratic League 1945–1948. In the 1920−1930s, Pekkala was twice in prison for his political activities, and he was even kidnapped by the fascist Lapua Movement in 1930. As the political situation in Finland changed after the World War II, Pekkala was the Minister of Education 1945–1946, and the Minister of Justice 1946–1948.

The Malmi Cemetery is a large cemetery located at the corner between Ring I and the Lahti Highway (E75) in the Malmi district in Helsinki, Finland. It is the largest cemetery in Finland in terms of both area and number of burials. It was a former training and camp site for soldiers under the administration of the Finnish Crown. In the early 20th century, Malmi Cemetery even had its own train connection and water tower.
