Career

Fenerbahçe transferred him from Bursaspor at the start of 2005–06 season. He played only at the Turkish Cup matches last season but after Rüştü Reçber's injury and Volkan Demirel's poor performance, suddenly he became the first option of the first eleven.

Turkish National Team coach Fatih Terim called him up for Romania and Malta matches. He received his first senior international cap in a friendly against Romania on August 22, 2007.

On 14 July 2011 he was detained due to allegations of match-fixing in Gençlerbirliği-Fenerbahçe. [1]

Christoph Paul Daum is a German professional football manager and former player who last managed the Romania national team. Daum played as a midfielder and was a junior for several clubs from the region of Duisburg. He began his senior career with Hamborn 07 and Eintracht Duisburg, before joining 1. 2007–08 Süper Lig

The 2007–08 Süper Lig season,, was the 50th anniversary of top-flight professional football in Turkey. It was won by Galatasaray, who won their 17th championship.

The 2006 Turkish Super Cup was a football match between 2005–06 Süper Lig champions Galatasaray, and the 2005–06 Turkish Cup winners Beşiktaş. The match was played in Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany. It was the 34th edition of the Turkish Super Cup, since its establishment as Presidential Cup, and was the first time under the rebranded TFF Süper Kupa name. Also this final marked the re-establishment of the national super cup matches in Turkey, sanctioned by Turkish Football Federation. The last edition was in 1998, and there was an 8-year hiatus.

They also competed in the UEFA Champions League starting in the third qualifying round after being second in the 2012–13 domestic season. At the same time, Fenerbahçe was banned from European football, the Champions League third qualifying round spots shifted down after a match-fixing scandal. On 18 July 2013, Fenerbahçe's will enter the Champions League third qualifying round on Friday despite its UEFA ban for match-fixing scandal after winning an emergency ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
