Sergey Chernyshev (born 13 May 1988) is a Russian rugby union player who generally plays as a prop represents Russia internationally. [1] [2]
He was included in the Russian squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup which was held in Japan for the first time and also marks his first World Cup appearance. [3]
Sergey made his international debut for Russia against Hong Kong on 8 November 2014. [4]
The Japan national team have competed in every Rugby World Cup since the inaugural tournament in 1987. They are so far the only team to reach the Rugby World Cup through Asian regional qualifying. In 2019, they progressed to the quarterfinals for the first time in their participation, making them the first Asian team to do so in the tournament.
