Shadalafiya (Nkui) is a town in Kagarko Local Government Area of southern Kaduna State, Nigeria. The Shadalafiya people speak the Koro Wachi language. [1]

The Ham people are an ethnic group found in the southern part of Kaduna State in the northwestern region of Nigeria, predominantly in Jaba, Kachia and Kagarko Local Government Areas of southern Kaduna State, Nigeria. They speak the Hyam language and refer to themselves as Ham. They are known as the 'Jaba' in Hausa, but a recent study by a linguist who is a native of the area has definitely proven that the label 'Jaba' was derogatory and should be rejected. Southern Kaduna is an area of the Nok Culture region inhabited by various related ethnic groups who do not identify as Hausa, living south of Zaria, Kaduna State. It is located in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria. According to the Southern Kaduna People's Union (SOKAPU), Southern Kaduna consists of 12 Local Government Areas out of 23 in Kaduna State.

The 2011 Kaduna State gubernatorial election occurred on April 28, 2011, after a two-day delay due to security concerns. Of the over five political parties contesting, just two were formidable, the PDP and newly formed CPC. The Gurara II Power Station is a proposed 360 megawatts hydroelectric power station across the Gurara River in Nigeria. The power station is owned and is under development by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The Exim Bank of China has agreed to lend US$1 billion towards the construction of this renewable energy project. The Nigerian Federal Executive Council accepted that offer in May 2019.
