Shailendra Singh is an Indian film producer, entrepreneur, sports marketer, and author. He is the co-founder and former Joint Managing Director of Percept Limited, the inceptor of the Sunburn Festival, [1] [2] and the founder of Boss Entertainment LLP and the social enterprise Guestlist4Good. [3] [4]
He has worked across media, live entertainment and films. Over the course of his career, Singh has been associated with 23 startups, [4] produced more than 70 feature films, [5] created India's first commercial animation film Hanuman (2005), [6] the first children's cinema Makdee (2002), and the Pakistani cross-border release Khuda Kay Liye (2007). Singh co-founded Percept Ltd, an entertainment and communications company. [3] In 1997, he established a sports marketing and management venture that was involved in deals such as the Sahara sponsorship of the Indian national cricket team. [8] [4] [9]
He later launched Percept Talent, a talent management venture with Lachlan Murdoch, managing Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Dev, and others. [10] [11]
In 2007, Singh co-created the Sunburn Festival at Candolim Beach, Goa. [12] The event later expanded into formats such as Sunburn Arena, Reload, Campus and City Festivals. In 2014, the International Music Summit ranked Sunburn as the third-largest electronic music festival globally. Singh was also included in the inthemix list of 50 influential people in electronic dance music, where he was the only Indian named. [2] [7] [13]
Singh later launched Guestlist4Good, an entertainment initiative that organised events such as those at DY Patil Stadium and supported education programmes through its partnership with Magic Bus. [14] He is also associated with Boss Entertainment LLP. [3]
In 2024, Singh commented on leadership changes related to Percept and on media coverage concerning Sunburn in trade publications. [15]
Singh has been credited with producing and releasing 72 feature films through Percept's film operations and other ventures. [16]
