Muhammad Shamil bin Sharif (born 8 May 1992) is a Singaporean professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Warriors in the S.League, Singapore's top tier of professional football.
Shamil currently represents Singapore internationally in the U23 team, having also featured for the U21 and U22 teams previously. He received his first call-up back in 2012 for the 2012 Hassanal Bolkial Trophy tournament, which took place at the Hassanal Bolkial National Stadium in the Philippines. [3] Shamil was also part of the selected Singapore U21 squad that took part in the Vietnam Newspaper Cup 2012, a cup competition hosted annually by the Vietnam Football Federation to prepare the youth players for playing at the U23 level as well as in senior competitive football. [4] Shamil was also named by the Football Association of Singapore the following year in the 20-men squad participating in the Thanh Nien Under-21 International Football Tournament 2013. [5] On 27 May 2015, Shamil was revealed as part of the final 20-men squad selected to play for Singapore in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. [6]

Harimau Muda A was the club name for the former Malaysia Under-22 National Football Team, representing Malaysia in international football competitions such as the AFC U-22 Asian Cup, Champions Youth Cup as well as other under-22 international football tournaments. It was managed by Football Association of Malaysia. The squad was the feeder team for Malaysia U-23 and senior national football team. In 2015, Harimau Muda once again became a single team composed of former Harimau Muda A & B players. On 25 November 2015, it was confirmed that the club was disbanded by FAM which meant that all the players were returned to their own state sides.
Malaysia national under-19 football team represents Malaysia in international football competitions in AFF U-19 Youth Championship, AFC U-19 Championship and FIFA U-20 World Cup, as well as any other under-20 international football tournaments. The players in the current team mainly consist of players with age within 17 to 19 years old where the oldest players will be below the age requirement of 20 years old when the next U-20 tournament started. The team will also play in other age-restricted tournament as the older or younger side such as U-20 and U-18 when needed.

The International Thanh Niên Newspaper Cup is an annual football tournament held in Vietnam. The tournament was officially launched in 2007 by Thanh Niên News in co-operation with the Vietnam Football Federation, with the aim of improving youth football in Vietnam. In addition to improving the quality of football in the country, the tournament also serve to help VFF selectors build up the next generation of players who would represent Vietnam at the senior and U23 levels.
