The Shamrock Rovers Hoops were an Irish basketball team based in Tallaght, Dublin. Rovers competed in the Superleague and played their home games at the National Basketball Arena. They were affiliated with Shamrock Rovers F.C., who were nicknamed The Hoops.

Originally known as Denny Notre Dame, the team won four consecutive National Cup titles between 1997 and 2000. [1] Notre Dame also won the Irish National Championship in 2000. [2] [3] [4] The team became known as Shamrock Rovers Hoops in 2004 and competed in the Superleague until 2010 when they withdrew from the 2010–11 season due to financial constraints. [5]

Shamrock Rovers have supplied more players to the Republic of Ireland national football team (62) than any other club. Boston Shamrock Rovers were an American soccer team that competed in the United Soccer Association (USA) league in 1967. The team was based in Lynn, Massachusetts and played their home games at the Manning Bowl. The team folded when the USA merged with the National Professional Soccer League to form the North American Soccer League.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, United States. The program competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I. On September 12, 2012, Notre Dame announced they would be moving to the Atlantic Coast Conference; they joined the conference on July 1, 2013. The school holds two retroactively awarded national championships in basketball from the Helms Foundation: for the 1927 and 1936 seasons. They have also played in the NCAA Tournament 36 times, good for 9th all time, and reached the Final Four in 1978. The Irish hold the record for most Tournament appearances without a championship or championship game appearance, one of five teams to have 30 or more appearances without a title and one of three teams to have more than 30 appearances without either. They are also the first Big East team to go undefeated at home two straight seasons. They play their home games in the Purcell Pavilion at the Edmund P. Joyce Center. Between 2009 and 2011 they also played in three successive Emerald Futsal League title play-off finals, winning the competition in 2009 and 2010.

The 2021 League of Ireland Premier Division, known as the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division for sponsorship reasons, was the 37th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division, the top Irish league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1985. Shamrock Rovers are the defending champions, having won their sixth league title the previous season.
