Shane Moloney (born 4 March 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays as a corner-forward for the Galway senior team. At club level he plays with Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry.
Moloney captained Galway as they won the All-Ireland title in 2011 where he scored 1-9 in the final against Dublin. [1] On 16 August 2015, he came on as a substitute with five minutes remaining in Galway's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-final against Tipperary. With the game into the last of the three minutes of stoppage time, Moloney scored the winning point to put Galway into the final. [2]
On 3 September 2017, Moloney came on as a substitute for Galway in the second half as they won their first All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship in 29 years against Waterford. [3] [4]
Séamus Callanan is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Drom & Inch and is a former All-Ireland winning captain of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Often considered one of the best players of the current generation, Callanan has been a four-time nominee for Hurler of the Year, winning the award in 2019, and has won four All-Stars. He has won ten major trophies in his inter-county career, including three All-Ireland Championships, six Munster Championships and one National League. A prolific goalscorer, Callanan holds the Tipperary record for most championship goals scored (40) and is the second-highest goalscorer in championship history. The Galway–Tipperary fixture is a traditional hurling rivalry dating back to 1888. Tipperary have traditionally been one of the strongest teams in the Munster Championship while Galway have won five All-Ireland Senior hurling titles, including defeating Tipperary in the 1988 All-Ireland Hurling Final. There is no present Connacht Championship, so since 2009 Galway have played in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.
