Shaun Simpson (born 13 March 1988) is a Scottish professional motocross racer. [1] [2] He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2004. [3] Simpson has won two British motocross championships (2008 and 2014), a Belgian Championship (2011) and has represented Great Britain four times at the prestigious Motocross des Nations. [3]
Simpson was born in Gauldry, Fife, Scotland and educated at Madras College secondary school. In 2010, Simpson competed for the KTM factory racing team managed by former world champion Stefan Everts in the F.I.M. MX2-GP World Championships. [4] He finished in 8th place with three podium finishes. For 2011 he signed a contract to race for the Honda LS team and finished the season in fifteenth place. He raced in the 2013 season with Factory TM Ricci Racing using the number 24 jersey. Simpson announced his separation from TM Racing on 24 June 2013. [5] He placed seventh in the 2014 MXGP world championship and, improved to a fourth-place finish in the 2015 season with three moto victories while riding for the HM Plant KTM UK team.
Ben Townley is a former professional motocross and supercross racer originating from Taupo, New Zealand. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2001 to 2005 and in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2006 to 2013. Townley is notable for winning the 2004 MX2 world championship.
Joël Smets is a Belgian former professional motocross racer and current Racing Sports Director for KTM motorcycles. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1989 to 2005. Smets is notable for being a five-time motocross world champion, six-time Belgian national champion and was Belgian Sportsman of the year in 2000. His 57 career Grand Prix victories ranks him fourth overall among motocross world championship competitors.
Jacky Martens is a Belgian former professional motocross racer and current race team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1979 to 1997. Martens is notable for winning the 1993 F.I.M. 500cc motocross world championship.
Tanel Leok is an Estonian professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2001.
Tommy Searle is an English professional motocross and supercross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2005 to 2008 and competed in the AMA Motocross Championships in 2009 and 2010. He returned to the Motocross World Championships from 2011 to 2019. Searle is a three-time MX2 World vice-champion. His fourteen MX2 Grand Prix victories make him Britain's most successful MX2 rider and ranks third in total victories across all classes to multiple world champions David Thorpe and Jeff Smith.
Antonio "Tony" Cairoli is an Italian professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2002. Cairoli is notable for winning nine FIM motocross world championships, second only to ten-time champion Stefan Everts, making him one of the most successful world championship motocross racers in history.
Tyla Rattray is a South African former professional motocross racer and current motocross team trainer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1999 to 2008 and, in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2009 to 2013. He returned to the Motocross World Championships for his final two seasons from 2014 to 2015. Rattray is notable for winning the FIM MX2 world championship in 2008.
Maximilian "Max" Nagl is a German professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2003.

It included 18 events, starting at Losail in Qatar on 28 February, and ending at San Bernardino, California in the United States on 20 September. In the main MXGP class, Tony Cairoli was the six-time defending champion, and entered the 2015 season looking to score a record seventh consecutive premier class title, for Red Bull KTM. In the MX2 class, Jordi Tixier was the defending champion, after taking the title in the final race of the 2014 season, also for Red Bull KTM. Tixier defends his title with Team Monster Energy Kawasaki.
Glenn Coldenhoff is a Dutch professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2013. Coldenhoff was a member of the winning Dutch team at the 2019 Motocross des Nations event that included Jeffrey Herlings and Calvin Vlaanderen.

Gautier Paulin is a French former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2008 until 2020. Paulin was a member of the French team that won five consecutive Motocross des Nations events between 2014 and 2018.

It included 20 events, starting at Losail in Qatar on 25 February, and ending at Villars-sous-Écot in France on 17 September. In the main MXGP class, Tim Gajser was the defending champion after taking his first title in 2016. In the MX2 class, Jeffrey Herlings was the 2016 champion, but he moved up to the MXGP class after taking his third MX2 title.
The 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 64th FIM Motocross World Championship season. It had 18 events, starting at Matterley Basin on 1 March and ending at Pietramurata, Italy on 8 November. No races were held from April to July due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
