Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui (born 9 August 1988) is a Pakistani actor, film producer, director, screenwriter and television host. He made his film debut as a lead actor and producer in 2016 with Ho Mann Jahaan. He is notable for his role in Asim Raza's Parey Hut Love , which became Pakistan's highest-grossing movie 2019. [1] [2] He has starred in male-centric serials such as Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay , Kahi Un Kahi , Zindagi Gulzar Hai , Aasmanon Pay Likha and Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley . For his performances in Ho Mann Jahaan , Saat Din Mohabbat In , and Parey Hut Love, he has won a Lux Style Award (2017); a Masala Award (2019); and a Pakistan International Screen Award (2020), respectively.

Early life and education

He was born on 9 August 1988 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. [3]

His father, air commodore (r) Munawar Alam Siddiqui, was in the Pakistan Air Force before switching to business after retirement, his sister Nadia is a business graduate, while his elder brother, Asfandyar, who died in a car accident on 23 December 2012, was an investment banker. [4] His younger brother, Manoucheher, was wounded in a cafe shooting in 2011. [5]

In a 2018 interview with Samina Peerzada, he revealed that he's of Sindhi descent from his paternal side and Brahui maternally, while the influential TV director and producer Sultana Siddiqui is his aunt. [6] Sheheryar's father, Munawar, is also a board member of Hum Network, founded by Sultana. [7]

Another of his uncles is Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui, [8] "one of Pakistan's senior-most civil servants and an eminent educationist", who also served as the vice-chancellor of Sindh University and is a board member of Hum Network as well. [7]

Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, an entrepreneur who also served as ambassador of Pakistan to the United States for a few months in 2018, is his cousin. [9] Ali's father, Jahangir Siddiqui, is the founder of JS Group. [10]

Sheheryar completed his Bachelor in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. [11]

Career

Acting

Sheheryar started his career as an actor with his debut in the Hum TV drama serial Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley in which he played the character of a deaf and dumb boy.

In 2013, he appeared in Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay , Kahi Unkahi and Zindagi Gulzar Hai .

Then he started concentrating on movies.

In 2021, he starred in Pehli Si Muhabbat , his first TV role since Aasmanon Pay Likha in 2014, with Maya Ali in their second collaboration after the 2019 movie Parey Hut Love . [1]

Direction and screenwriting

In 2015, he was Asim Raza's assistant director during an advertisement campaign for QMobile. [12]

In 2021, he became a director with the short film Prince Charming about post-marriage depression, which was received well. [13]

In 2023, he wrote and directed the telefilm Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam released on Geo TV. [14]

Hosting

In 2022, he began hosting a TV gameshow called Khel Kay Jeet on Express TV . [15]

Zara Noor Abbas Gill, also known by her married name Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui, is a Pakistani actress. She is best known for her role as Arsala in Momina Duraid's Khamoshi (2017), and has also acted in serials Dharkan (2016), Lamhay (2018), Qaid (2018), Deewar-e-Shab (2019), Ehd-e-Wafa (2019), Phaans (2021), Badshah Begum (2022) and Jhoom (2023). She made her film debut with Wajahat Rauf's Chhalawa (2019) and later appeared in Asim Raza's Parey Hut Luv in the same year.

Hiba Qadir better known as Hiba Bukhari is a Pakistani television actress. She is known for her role as Seemal in Hum TV's Thori Si Wafa (2017), for which she won the Hum Award for Best Soap Actress. She has also played leading roles in Deewangi (2019), Fitoor, Inteha e Ishq both (2021), and Meray Humnasheen (2022).

<i>Parey Hut Love</i> 2019 film by Asim Raza

Parey Hut Love is a 2019 Pakistani romantic comedy film, directed by Asim Raza. Written by Imran Aslam, the story revolves around a young free-willed, commitment-phobic, aspiring actor Sheheryar and a strong-willed girl, Saniya and their romance as they meet and fall in love over a series of unplanned encounters at the weddings of their friends and family. Parey Hut Love also stars Nadeem Baig, Ahmed Ali Butt and Zara Noor Abbas and Shahbaz Shigri in prominent roles. The film also features a cameo by Mahira Khan and a special appearance by Fawad Khan. There are also cameos from Meera, Sonya Jehan and Ahmed Ali Akbar.
