In 1973 Myqerem Fuga joined as Minister of Light and Food Industry. The only other change during these four years involved the long-time Defense Minister Beqir Balluku was relieved of all his positions on July 10, 1974. Balluku had publicly stated that he assessed the threat situation differently than Hoxha. [1] He was arrested along with two other high-ranking military officers for attempting a military coup. He was sentenced to death and executed on November 5, 1974.
