Sylvia Sweeney, C.M., is a Canadian executive television producer and Olympian. In 2017, Sweeney was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada "for her long-standing commitment to and creative leadership at the nexus of art and sport through her documentaries and world-stage productions."

Sheila Christine Taormina is an American former athlete who competed at four Olympics, and was the first woman to qualify for the Olympics in three different sports. Speed skating at the 1976 Winter Olympics, was held from 5 to 14 February. Nine events were contested at Eisschnelllaufbahn Innsbruck. Connie Carpenter-Phinney is an American retired racing cyclist and speed skater who won four medals in World Cycling Championship competitions in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She was a three-time overall winner of the Coors International Bicycle Classic. She also won the gold medal in the cycling road race at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, as well as twelve U.S. national championships. She remains the youngest American woman to compete at the Winter Olympics.
Sheila Grace Young-Ochowicz is a retired American speed skater and track cyclist. She won three world titles in each of these sports, twice in the same year. In 1976, she also became the first American athlete to win three medals at one Winter Olympics.
Leah Jean Poulos-Mueller is an American retired speed skater. She competed at the 1972, 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and won two silver medals in 1980 and one in 1976. She garnered more than 65 Olympic, world, and international speed skating medals and titles during a career that spanned 12 competitive years and three Olympic teams. After retiring from competitions she had a long career in law as a civil litigator.
Rosalyn Evette Bryant is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 meters.
Debra Elaine Sapenter, is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 meters. She was born in Prairie View, Texas. In 1975 she was rated as the number one 400 meter women's sprinter in the United States. She competed for United States in the 1976 Summer Olympics, held in Montreal, in the 4 × 400 metres relay where she won the silver medal with her teammates Sheila Ingram, Pamela Jiles and Rosalyn Bryant.

Trina Marie Jackson, also known by her married name as Trina Falca, is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Jackson won a gold medal as a member of the first-place U.S. team in the women's 4×200-meter freestyle relay, together with teammates Jenny Thompson, Cristina Teuscher and Sheila Taormina. The four Americans set a new Olympic record of 7:59.87 in the event final. She missed a bronze in the individual 200 freestyle by just 0.01 to Dagmar Hase.
Sheila Burnett is a British sprint canoeist who competed in the 1970s. She is believed to be the first woman to complete the Devizes to Westminster marathon canoe race, which she entered in 1971 as part of a mixed crew with Colin Dickens, then a fellow member of Cambridge University Canoe Club. Women were at that time barred from the event, so Sheila sent in her entry using her initials rather than her full forenames to disguise her gender. Sheila and her partner successfully completed the 125 mile course, but were subsequently disqualified as ineligible and did not appear in the official results. Although unofficial reports of their race time are contradictory, evidence suggests that they finished the event in just under 35 hours, including an overnight stop. Sheila went on to represent Great Britain at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, where she was eliminated in the semifinals of the K-1 500 m event.

Sheila Armstrong was an American fencer. She competed in the women's individual and team foil events at the 1976 Summer Olympics. She also won the women's team foil bronze medal at the 1975 Pan American Games.
Sheila Reid is a Canadian track and field Olympian who competes in cross country, middle and long-distance running events. She competed collegiately at Villanova University. Reid won the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Women's Cross Country Championship, and in June 2011 became the first woman to win the 5000 m and the 1500 m at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. She won the Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female cross country runner in 2011, repeated as the best female cross country runner in 2012, and also won the Honda Sports Award for Track and field in 2012.
Sheila Kavugwe Chajira is a female Kenyan rugby sevens player. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics as a member of the Kenyan women's national rugby sevens team. She played at the 2016 France Women's Sevens.
