The Shellsport G8 International Series was a Formula Libre motor racing competition held in the United Kingdom. Contested in both 1976 and 1977, the series catered for Formula One, Formula Two, Formula 5000 and Formula Atlantic cars competing together in the same races. [1]

Divina Mary Galica MBE is a British sportswoman. She competed in four Winter Olympics as a skier, captaining the British Women’s Olympic Ski Team in 1968 and 1972. She also pursued a career in motorsport, entering three Formula One World Championship Grands Prix.
Emilio de Villota Ruíz is a former racing driver from Spain, born in Madrid. He entered 15 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix between 1976 and 1982, qualifying twice. He entered most Spanish Grand Prix between 1976 and 1982 and became a major force in the short-lived Aurora AFX Formula One Championship for F1 cars, winning the title in 1980.

Formula 5000 was an open wheel, single seater auto-racing formula that ran in different series in various regions around the world from 1968 to 1982. It was originally intended as a low-cost series aimed at open-wheel racing cars that no longer fit into any particular formula. The '5000' denomination comes from the maximum 5.0 litre engine capacity allowed in the cars, although many cars ran with smaller engines. Manufacturers included McLaren, Eagle, March, Lola, Lotus, Elfin, Matich and Chevron.
British Formula One Racing Team was a Formula One team run by Brian Henton in 1977. Henton, a racing driver who had been competing in Formula One and Two, set up his own team to compete regularly in Formula One. The team purchased a March 761B from March Engineering together with a Cosworth DFV engine, to compete in selected World Championship and Shellsport International Series races. Henton and Bernard de Dryver entered four World Championship races, but failed to qualify for any. The team later shut down through lack of funds.

The T332 was successful around the globe with race victories in places such as Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the United States. The Lola commonly used the 5.0-litre Chevrolet V8 engine, though some competitors in Australia and New Zealand used the slightly cheaper and less powerful Australian made 5.0-litre Repco Holden V8.
Derek Cook was a British auto racing driver and businessman. He was most notable for competing in the Shellsport International Series in 1976 and 1977, and for running the DC Cook Motorsports team in the 1990s. He also ran the DC Cook Direct dealership, prior to his death in a car crash in 2005.

The first Shellsport International Series was contested over 13 rounds. The season started on 21 March and ended on 7 November. The Drivers' Championship was won by Englishman David Purley.

The second Shellsport International Series was contested over 14 rounds. The season started on 13 March and ended on 16 October. The Drivers' Championship was won by Englishman Tony Trimmer. The season was marred by the death of Brian McGuire due a practice session for round 11 at Brands Hatch. It was the last season of the Shellsport International Series. For 1978, the series would become the British Formula One series.
Ian Grob is a former English racing driver. His father, Ken Grob, of Token Racing fame, ran his cars, which allowed Ian his opportunity to race. He raced in a number of events, including European Formula 2 and Le Mans 24 Hours. He retired from international motor sport after his last race, 1980 24 Hours of Daytona.
The Williams FW04 was a Formula One car used by Frank Williams Racing Cars during the 1975 season and Wolf–Williams Racing during the 1976 season. The car was a development of the Williams FW and two were built. Although not a particularly successful car, an FW04 finished second at the 1975 German Grand Prix.
Keith Holland is a British former racing driver from England who competed in various classes of racing in the 1960s and 1970s. He is known for winning the 1969 Madrid Grand Prix in a Formula 5000 car in a field which contained several Formula One entries. He was also a regular competitor in the British Formula 5000 Championship finishing third in the title standings on two occasions.
