Sheridan Gallagher (born 2 January 2002) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL Women's Premiership. Her positions are wing and fullback. She also plays association football for the Newcastle Jets in the A-League Women competition.

Background

Gallagher was born in Douglas Park, New South Wales. She attended Westfields Sports High School, where she was named the 2019 Sports Person of the Year. [2] She also competed in show jumping as a teenager. [2]

Playing career

2021

In 2021, Gallagher played for the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League Women competition. [3]

2022

In 2022, Gallagher captained the Young Matildas side at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica. [2]

2023

In 2023, Gallagher started playing rugby league for the Mount Pritchard Mounties in the NSWRL Women's Premiership. [4]

In May, she signed a 1-year contract with NRLW team Newcastle Knights. [2] In round 1 of the 2023 NRLW season, she made her NRLW debut for the Knights against the St. George Illawarra Dragons. [5]

In October, Gallagher played on the wing and scored a try in the Knights' 24-18 Grand Final victory over the Gold Coast Titans. [6]
