Sheridan High School is a public high school in Thornville, Ohio. The school is located in Northern Perry County. Sheridan High School's teams are known as the Generals, and the school colors are red and gray.

Contents

Three area schools (Glenford, Somerset, and Thornville) were combined in 1960 to form the Northern Local School District. Sheridan High School became the only high school in the new district. When the high school opened in 1960, there were 378 students enrolled in the school. [2]

William Cockburn Russell Sheridan was the fifth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana and served from 1972 to 1987. He was born in New York, New York on March 25, 1917, the son of John Russell Sheridan and Gertrude Magdalen Herley Sheridan. He died September 24, 2005, at his home in Culver, Indiana and was buried in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.

The Little Ten Conference is the oldest continuous high school athletic conference in the state of Illinois. Founded in 1919, it comprised the following small high schools in northern Illinois: Earlville, Hinckley, Leland, Paw Paw, Plano, Rollo, Sandwich, Shabbona, Somonauk, and Waterman. The conference is still in operation and currently consists of the following members: DePue, Earlville, Hinckley-Big Rock, Indian Creek, Kirkland Hiawatha, LaMoille, Leland, Newark, Serena, Somonauk, and the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA). Over the years, there have been a number of other area schools in the conference, including Malta.

Duane Charles Theiss is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He played two seasons with the Atlanta Braves from 1977 to 1978.

Thornville is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census Thornville had a population of 26 people.
