Shigeko Kagawa (born 28 May 1911) is a Japanese supercentenarian who is the oldest living Japanese person since the death of Miyoko Hiroyasu on 29 July 2025. [1]

Biography

Shigeko Kagawa was born on 28 May 1911.

Kagawa was a doctor in Osaka when the Second World War was ongoing. [2]

Kagawa married in 1947, and in 1948 she gave birth to her daughter.

In 2021, at the age of 109, Kagawa held the Olympic torch during the 2021 Tokyo olympic games. [3]

Kagawa currently lives in Yamatokōriyama in Nara Prefecture.
