Synopsis

A Shipibo boy is raised by his grandparents in direct contact with the Amazon forest and its inhabitants, whom he respects; he is considered part of their social environment. Growing up and coming into contact with urban life, the child denies his culture to avoid discrimination. [2]

Shipibos Stories had its world premiere on August 14, 2023, as part of the Fiction competition at the 27th Lima Film Festival. [1] [2]

The APRECI Award for Best Fiction Film or Best Peruvian Feature Film is one of the awards given by the Asociación Peruana de Prensa Cinematográfica in recognition of those outstanding Peruvian feature films of the previous year. The category was awarded for the first time in 2009 to Claudia Llosa's drama film The Milk of Sorrow.

The 2023 APRECI Awards, presented by the Asociación Peruana de Prensa Cinematográfica, is set to take place at the Ministry of Culture in Lima, on 23 February 2024, to recognize the best Peruvian film productions of the year.
