Shirlee Busbee (born August 9, 1941) is an American writer of romance novels since 1977. With over nine million copies of her books in print, she is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in writing, including the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award and Affaire de Coeur's Silver and Bronze Pen Awards. Shirlee Elaine was born in San Jose, California, the first daughter of a career naval officer. She grew up with two sisters and three brothers traveling the world. She attended high school in Kenitra, Morocco and when she returned to California, went to Burbank Business College in Santa Rosa, where she met her future husband Howard Busbee, she received a certificate in 1962. On June 22, 1963, she married Howard. [2]
Later, she worked as a draftsman in Solano County, where she met her friend and mentor, the author Rosemary Rogers. She lives in Northern California, where they raise American Shetland Ponies and own Miniature Schnauzers.

Blackmore's Night is a British-American neo-medieval folk rock band formed in 1997, consisting mainly of Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night. Ardyth Matilda Kennelly was an American novelist, with five novels published between 1949 and 1956 and one published posthumously, in 2014. Kennelly was born in Glenada, Oregon, and briefly lived in Salt Lake City, before moving back to Albany, Oregon. She attended Albany High School, where she graduated in 1929. After high school, she attended Oregon State College for three years, but she did not graduate. Before her career as an author, Kennelly wrote stories for The Manuscript while she attended Oregon State College, the Improvement Era, and pulp magazines. As an author, Kennelly wrote five novels that were published during her lifetime: The Peaceable Kingdom, The Spur, Good Morning Young Lady, Up Home, and Marry Me, Carry Me. Her final novel, Variation West, was published posthumously. Kennelly developed a second career as a collage and mixed media construction artist. Her work was featured in two exhibits in 1996 and 2000, respectively. Kennelly moved to Vancouver, Washington, late in life to be with her sister where she died at the age of 92.

Rosemary Rogers was a Sri Lankan Burgher best-selling author of historical romance novels. Her first book, Sweet Savage Love, was published in 1974. She was the second romance author, after Kathleen Woodiwiss, to have her novels published in trade paperback format. Both writers found their initial success working with editor Nancy Coffey who was then with Avon Books. Rogers is considered to be one of the founders of the modern historical romance, and many of today's writers cite her writing as one of their biggest influences. She lived in California.
