Ithaca College is a private college in Ithaca,New York. It was founded by William Egbert in 1892 as a conservatory of music and is set against the backdrop of the city of Ithaca,outside Cayuga Lake,waterfalls,and gorges.
Carol Lani Guinier was an American educator,legal scholar,and civil rights theorist. She was the Bennett Boskey Professor of Law at Harvard Law School,and the first woman of color appointed to a tenured professorship there. Before coming to Harvard in 1998,Guinier taught at the University of Pennsylvania Law School for ten years. Her scholarship covered the professional responsibilities of public lawyers,the relationship between democracy and the law,the role of race and gender in the political process,college admissions,and affirmative action. In 1993 President Bill Clinton nominated Guinier to be United States Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights,but withdrew the nomination.
The Honorable Shirley Ann Jackson,Ph.D.,is an American physicist,and was the 18th president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is the first African-American woman to have earned a doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics,and the first African-American woman to have earned a doctorate at MIT in any field. She is also the second African-American woman in the United States to earn a doctorate in physics.
The New England Small Collegiate Athletic Conference (NESCAC) is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising sports teams from eleven highly selective liberal arts institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States. The eleven institutions are Amherst College,Bates College,Bowdoin College,Colby College,Connecticut College,Hamilton College,Middlebury College,Tufts University,Trinity College,Wesleyan University,and Williams College.
Vanderbilt University is a private research university in Nashville,Tennessee. Previously he was director of the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta,Georgia. Before joining CDC in 2007,Trevathan was professor of neurology and pediatrics,as well as director of the Division of Pediatric &Developmental Neurology,at Washington University School of Medicine and was neurologist-in-chief at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
A. Van Jordan is an American poet. He is a professor at Stanford University and was previously a college professor in the Department of English Language &Literature at the University of Michigan and distinguished visiting professor at Ithaca College. He previously served as the first Henry Rutgers Presidential Professor at the Rutgers University-Newark. He is the author of four collections:Rise (2001),M-A-C-N-O-L-I-A (2005),Quantum Lyrics (2007),and The Cineaste (2013). Jordan's awards include a Whiting Writers Award,a Pushcart Prize and a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Denise O'Neil Green is an American academic,and currently the Vice-president,Equity and Community Inclusion at Toronto Metropolitan University,Toronto. She took up the position in April 2017,after serving as the inaugural Assistant Vice-president/Vice-provost Equity,Diversity and Inclusion at Toronto Metropolitan University,becoming the first person to hold this rank of senior leadership in Canadian higher education. Ryerson was the first Canadian university to create such a position. Green has been recognized nationally for her leadership in with several honours and awards.
La Jerne Terry Cornish is an American academic administrator who is the 10th president of Ithaca College. She was previously the provost,executive vice president,and interim president at Ithaca. Cornish was a professor and the associate provost for undergraduate students at Goucher College.
