Adelaide Oval is a sports ground in Adelaide,South Australia,located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide. New South Wales Breakers won the tournament for the 17th time after finishing only fourth on the ladder and beating South Australian Scorpions in the final. The tournament started on 22 September 2019 and finished on 16 February 2020. Defending champions New South Wales Breakers topped the ladder and met Western Australia in the final,where the latter won by 42 runs to secure their first WNCL title.

The tournament started on 17 December 2021 and finished on 27 March 2022. Queensland were the defending champions. The 2021–22 Sydney Sixers Women's season was the seventh in the team's history. Coached by Ben Sawyer and captained by Ellyse Perry,the Sixers were not scheduled to play any WBBL|07 games in their home state of New South Wales due to ongoing border restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. They finished the regular season on the bottom of the ladder,and recorded more losses than wins,for the first time in the league's initial seven editions.
