Shiver is an upcoming American romantic fantasy film directed by Claire McCarthy and co-written by Jett Tattersall. It is based on the young adult novel of the same name by Maggie Stiefvater. It stars Maddie Ziegler, Levi Miller, Sofia Wylie, Iman Vellani, Lyon Daniels, Alexander Ludwig, Ross Butler, Alicia Witt, Greg Kinnear, and Neil Jackson.

Premise

A young woman, Grace, was saved by a yellow-eyed wolf as a child from a pack of wolves. Years later, she meets Sam, a young man with the identical yellow eyes, and they fall in love.

Production

In March 2023, an adaptation of Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater was in development, with Andy Fickman attached to direct, and Stiefvater serving as a consultant. [1] By November 2024, Fickman had exited the project, with Claire McCarthy hired to direct and co-write the screenplay with Jett Tattersall. Maddie Ziegler, Levi Miller, Sofia Wylie, Iman Vellani, Lyon Daniels, Alexander Ludwig, Ross Butler, Alicia Witt, and Greg Kinnear joined the cast. Principal photography began on October 28, 2024, in Vancouver [2] [3] and wrapped on December 11. [4] [5] Neil Jackson was also revealed to have joined the cast. [6]

Ross Fleming Butler is a Singaporean-born American actor. He is best known for his role as Zach Dempsey in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and as Brett Willis on K.C. Undercover. He was also cast as Reggie Mantle in the Netflix/The CW show Riverdale, but left the role after one season due to filming commitments to 13 Reasons Why. In 2019, he joined the DC Extended Universe as Superhero Eugene Choi in the film Shazam!, and reprised the role in Shazam! Fury of the Gods in 2023.

Iman Vellani is a Canadian actress and comic book writer. She starred as Kamala Khan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) miniseries Ms. Marvel (2022), the film The Marvels (2023) and is featured in the upcoming miniseries Marvel Zombies (2025). Vellani has also appeared as Khan in other Disney productions and has co-written two Ms. Marvel limited series.

The School for Good and Evil is a 2022 American fantasy film directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay he co-wrote with David Magee, based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Soman Chainani. The film stars an ensemble cast led by Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie and Sofia Wylie as Agatha, two best friends who are sent to the Schools for Good and Evil. After their fortunes are seemingly reversed, their friendship is put to the test.
